If anybody has tried using the new Ipod with video capability as a portable means of watching films transferred from a DVD, i would appreciate answers to the following:

   - Is the screen big enough to allow you to enjoy watching the film?

   - How did you get the film from the DVD to the Ipod?

Thanks

hi marcro,

i have an ipod video and have been trying to find out that exact question recently,

i went to google and typed in 'ipod video converter'. It comes up with streams of links to downloadable software that changes the fil type so that they are compatable with IPODS.

type that in on google and theres pkenty of programs that can run you through it better than i can!

Thanks for the replies.  I did the Google search but just wondered if anybody had any experience or comments on doing this.  I was not aware of ipodlounge and will check it out.

I've got a few films on mine - works well, and they look great.

I use PQ DVD to ipod convertor - was about $25 I think - you can try it for free but it will only record 2 minute clips.  Can use this to convert files as well as record from DVD - useful if you download via torrents.  Is easy to use.

Only problem with it is the sound is not perfect - seem to get a quiet clicking noise - but is OK.

I downloaded the converter from this link and have used to to covert a couple of videos which I then transferred onto my ipod with itunes.
Good luck.
