I don't disagree with the general thrust but "Pro C" is accused of rape and is immediately dropped by his sponsor.  I assume this is now going to trial but the company didn't want to wait for due process?  Or has it not even made trial?

I remember the stories involving poor Brandi Hawbaker

One pro staked her for a few sats, then as she had no where to sleep that night, offered to let her crash in his spare bed. When she was asleep he got into bed with her.

Then the infamous POB occurred.

Bonomo has highlighted some things that don't really seem to be sexism or misogyny.

Sexism is middle-aged players calling the waitress 'love', talking down to female players, etc.

What he is describing seems more like sex attacks.

If he wants to improve behaviour in the casino, he would have done better to focus on that and leave out the extremes. They are two separate issues.

But he's been to Burning Man and has read a couple of books about philosophy and spoken to some other poker players about things and now he REALLY UNDERSTANDS LIFE

Is calling a waitress "love" sexist?

I had never used that word to refer to a stranger before I moved up North, but round here iit seems like a generic term talking to people you've never met (by both men and women).

Does he still give a % of his winnings to that crackpot cryogenic charity?

Not to belittle the plight of the women mentioned in the stories, but lol +1 million

This is precisely my view of Bonomo, wp

Onto the subject itself, I don't think what has been mentioned is particularly a poker problem, I think it's a society problem that can be witnessed in poker and many other aspects of life. I don't think poker is inherently sexist, but you will see sleazy jerks when you are around that many men. You will see the worst of any group of people when you have such a high concentration of them.

Yeah pretty much this.

We live in an inherently sexist society that's obvious to anyone at every turn but that most men choose to ignore or worse rail against feminism instead as if that's any help at all. Belittling someone else doesn't make you stronger. And I say that as someone about to belittle Bonomo Wink

It's such a constant sigh when high profile poker players "discover" some truth that most of us already know. If you live a life in a bubble then finding out how the world works can be exciting but please stop presenting it to us as some pearls of wisdom dispensed from on high. You're just an above average intelligence kid with an unusual lifestyle. And that goes for you too Colman.

Well this is just turning into a circle jerk. +1 million again.

Negreanu is the same recently, with all the choice center stuff. I tend towards more his way of thinking I must admit, and obviously he has more life experience than the young uns, but he has still got hella preachy, especially about the veganism and stuff.

Obviously this then begs the question, at what point do we think someone has enough 'real life' experience that they can be preachy? I don't think there is an answer to that.

AFAIK as of the WSOP ME last year this hadn't gone to trial and the Pro was free to play, assuming this is the same story I heard.

since his cheating being caught out, bonomo has done a good job of inching his way back into the community and its now a spokesperson and ambassador? kind of like a jockey drawn wide breaking fast and inch by inch edging his way into the rail before slotting in after 2 furlongs. ive no time for him whatsoever
