Five members of Mike Pence’s team have been sidelined with the virus, including his Chief of Staff and his body man, which is a person who accompanies senior US politicians everywhere, ensuring everything runs smoothly. A body man is a politician’s closest aide, never leaving his side apart from sensitive meetings and personal time. Pence has been in close contact with both of these very recently, but he continues to travel and campaign, contrasting with Kamala Harris who took four days out a couple of weeks ago when one member of her team had it. Mark Meadows claims that Pence is an essential worker, which is clearly bunkum. In fairness, he seems to have mainly been making speeches at the bottom of aeroplane steps, which does limit infection possibilities for the locals, though not for his staff.

We have reached the end of National Character Counts Week, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to be inspired by the words of the President.

He teaches us how we also benefit when we treat other people well. “Every opportunity to show consideration for another person is also an opportunity to build habits of kindness and strengthen our character.”

The President has recommitted to being “more kind, loving, understanding, and virtuous”. This kind of example is what the USA and the world need at a time like this and we can do no better than to walk in his footsteps.

So, his signature was the only part that he put into that Smiley

Deputy Press Secretary Brian Morgenstern took a beating in the press recently for repeatedly refusing to discuss when Trump last had a negative test, but I have been impressed by him. He wouldn’t have had much option if he was under orders not to discuss it. I thought this was a very composed performance last week once he warmed up. He doesn’t say much of note, so you won’t learn much by watching more than a short piece of this. He was at the Treasury as Mnuchin’s sidekick for three years until July, when he was brought into the White House, and before that he was an attorney in New York. He's probably not going to have a long run at this job, but I have a feeling we’ll be hearing his name again in the future.

Seems far too composed and level toned for someone on Don's firm.

Yeah, it didn’t seem much like his style. More like Melania’s phrasing actually. Whoever wrote it, it’s incredible that they can put this out in his name, considering that it describes everything he isn’t.

Wow, what a speech tonight by Biden. I’ve seen a few of Trump’s lately and this was a different level. He was so high-energy and covered so much ground in a short time. He did crash his words and mix up his numbers once or twice but overall it was eloquent. Could help a lot in Georgia.

Probably needs to keep them shorter than Don, but easy to do when you just get through what you want to say, and don't go round like a waltzer Cheesy

Trump sounds like he's been mainlining heroin at multiple points through all his speeches, but he can definitely put some hours in at the podium.

We know that social media companies have been accused of bias, censorship and election interference in their attempts to suppress misinformation and disinformation. The Republican majority on the Senate Commerce Committee has subpoenaed the CEOs of Google, Facebook and Twitter to answer the charges. Testifying at 10am Eastern, which I think is 2pm our time. It’s a bit late to affect this election cycle but this hearing is likely to lead to changes in the law regarding what these companies are allowed to do in the future.

Rudy Giuliani lost his cool on Fox Business News yesterday when he fell out big time with presenter Kennedy and demanded an apology from her. Even Fox has had enough of Rudy now. Unfortunately the only YT copy so far is on Pakman - sorry about that, but it's worth it for Rudy.

Funny interview. Go on, Rudy Cheesy

I only came across his site recently, as he was showing as streaming one of the rallies live. Is he really bad?

Not too hard to work out that he really dislikes the donald, but from what I could make out he says he is a 'libertarian'.

Doesn't come across as such, but I've only a small sample to go on.

I just find him hard to watch. It’s probably just me - I struggle with some of these guys. Sam Seder is another one I can’t watch, cos he takes so long to say anything.

Highlight of the SoMe hearing was Ted Cruz' interrogation of just-out-of-bed Jack Dorsey.
