Watched the whole viewing Matt, actually enjoyed the humour side of it but commentary is defined on what is actually happening on the event you are commentating on which was missed on a few occasions, but you both seemed to be having fun which is a good thing, and Defo think it lightned the the game up as there wasn't a great deal of action. Well doneto you and Tom.

Please don't take this the wrong way but take it for the well meaning constructive criticism it is. I turned off your commentary after about the billionth joke at Guy Taylor's expense. I turned in to watch poker and you talked very little about it. I didn't get a lot of the DTD in-jokes and you seemed to be going out of your way to avoid talking about the hands in play as it it was 'uncool' to do so. I really didn't like either how you were so negative about the game being uninteresting or small. I remember you making that comment after Mr Gascoigne called with 99 after Michael attempted to overbet the pot on the river as a bluff for £550. This is neither 'uninteresting' or 'small' to me and it felt a little patronising.

Please don't take offence, you two obviously have good chemistry but my best bit of advice is to remember a lot of people have turned in to watch the poker and won't get the DTD in jokes.

I watched a bit of it and thought the game was pretty dull.  Tough when one of the 7 players hardly played a hand (who was he?) and someone in the chat box kept having a pop at him like there was some personal needle between them given his comments.  What was that all about?

I thought you both did ok.  Can't imagine talking about a short handed cash hand for hours on end without talking about the stuff you did.  Thought the balance between hand analysis and jokey chat was fine.  Liked the honest humour that neither of you were qualified to make qualified statements on cash games of this size.   Sure most people wouldn't get some of the jokes (i didn't) but i suppose a lot of dtd regs (the core audience) would get them i assume.

@ hutch, we had a few issues with not actually being able to see the hole cards, which made it difficult to talk about the hands at times :p I think I remember that hand, where Michael had 86 on a J10 high board? If that was the hand, we did talk about it (think I said something about how I thought the bet was designed to fold out A highs, and that I didn't think he was expecting Ian to fold a hand like the one he had), and any comments that we made about the size of the game/the action were supposed to be tongue in cheek. We probably did go a little overboard with that, so for that I apologise, if I go again I'll make sure to reign that in, it wasn't intended to be patronizing (this game would be pretty big for me, I certainly wasn't big timing it). We did spend more time after the break commenting on the game, hopefully if you watch it again you'll find that more to your liking Smiley

Perhaps I missed the tongue-in-cheek part and I apologise if I misinterpreted it. I'm clearly just getting old and grumpy - I'd certainly give you guys another spin if you're put back on. Like I said, you clearly have good chemistry but its just a little frustrating when the poker hands are getting ignored and I'm excluded from a lot of the jokes that are being made as I'm not a DTD reg.

Good luck with it all.

Your feedback is definitely welcome bud, I wasn't asking for criticism in the hopes I wouldn't get any! Will take it on board and try to do better next time Smiley

Yh we were pretty surprised that the game was as tame as it was, there was some fun stuff but not the level of craziness we were expecting! Dan is a pro from Newquay currently living in Newcastle, think this game was a little bigger than he's used to and the bloke giving him all the abuse in the chat was one of his mates, ended up not reading it after the first few comments because it seemed a bit much :p
