hold on a minute
"Ian Brown....made an enormous contribution to the music world"
Raise.
Action back to you.
He had a very big impact on quite a famous Era of music. In 100 years the Era of the Madchester movement will be a fuckton more memorable than the Era of little mix et all.
Four tidy boilers though, couple of Geordies in there too.
Ha, you can't say that.
I did laugh though, & now I feel bad.
It's alreet man, political correctness hasn't quite reached the South Shields Social yet.

They are a Spice Girls Tribute Band, in precisely
the same way as Oasis tried to replicate The Beatles
.
That is an
interesting
statement...
if they tried to replicate The Beatles, it was certainly lost on me.
I can see how Little Mix can be described as another girl band off the production line in the Spice Girls mould. They did seem to have reasonably good vocals when i heard them sing (genuinely, not lip sync) live on TV ages ago.
Remind me how old you were when The Beatles were in their prime, Mr H?
You actually know who this WotR bloke is? That's a first.
Ah actually, you're just hedging with "Mr H". Bound to be right sometimes eh?
Of course. I have a vivid memory of him finalling a UKPC 6 Max event.
We call that "KYC" Next Door.
I did have to check first via THM, as I had confused him with Stato. (As in "Mr H"). And I am scared to debate with Stato, as he's too clever, like that Alun bloke.
Whilst you are here, remind me of the name of the nice young gent who made the last UKPC Final, got a pony tail, & he mixed it up with Mr Cimbalos for a while?

I was approximately -25years old. Fortunately I have heard some of their work and listened to some Oasis growing up. I can imagine Oasis were influenced by The Beatles, but a vast range of more current musicians/bands are similarly influenced. I certainly wouldn't say Oasis tried to replicate the style/music of The Beatles though, not noticeably or obviously to me anyway.
Dont remind me of the UKPC 6max final
, bluffed it all off like an absolute trooper in that one.

See the problem? Hall, High, Hulme, and they all lookalike.
I use a system to remind me which is which - long hair, plump, and extremely good looking.

little mix are tosh, innit.
at least they know they are tosh.
chris martin though. my word.
they were subject of my favorite music review:
Quote
. Instead, the uneasy feeling that their ambitions may now be more commercial than artistic is difficult to avoid.
The lyrics do little to assuage that fear. Every song seems to have been written with one eye on row ZZ of the Pittsburgh Enormodome. Dealing only in generalities, the lyrics have been buffed until anyone can see their reflection in them: "Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?", "You don't have to be alone", "The future's for discovering". At their worst, they are so devoid of personality that they sound less like song lyrics than something dreamed up by a creative at ad agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty. The first thing you hear on the album is Chris Martin singing: "You're in control, is there anywhere you wanna go?" For a terrible moment, you wonder if the second thing you hear might be the voice of Tom Baker saying: " ... the new Toyota Yaris".
in your face, martin
the 6th form-level cod poetry of martin is ripe for ridicule, and could be seen to a bit of an easy target. but he invests such meaning and profundity in the tripe that i think it's fair game. and he not only bought into the self-importance of gwinnie paltrow he married into it and procreated with the wretched creature.

music is just about being able to relate to people imo.
arctic monkeys were popular because there was a bunch of 15-25 year old lads who agreed with everything they sung about, drugs, sex, violence, women.
same with oasis, ian brown and whoever else.
girls don't care if the pitch of little mixes songs aren't great, they see 4 imperfect girls (i think they gained a lot of support early because they looked like normal girls from school with not the best complexions, one being overweight etc) that they can relate to.
