Always loved Cheltenham Festival.

For a sports fan and any one who likes a bet the build up and anticipation are like no other event for me.

There have been some cracking threads on here with lots of ante post bets in previous years.

Any thoughts for this year?

Favourite week of the year.

Going away for the week with a couple mates, and can't wait.

I only bet pretty bowl, so try my best to nick some good antepost positions.

Obviously end up with some deadwood, too Grin

I've got all my bets on my office PC, so will chuck them up in the morning.

Only one so far for me ante-post: Identity Thief 16/1 EW in the CH.

Best week of the year for me. My lass always complains I'm ten times more excited for Cheltenham week than I am for a week away in the sun with her  Smiley going down for the full week this time, should be great. Plan is the oppose all the Mullins hot-pots and (hopefully) find some value. Might take some bravery the way it's going, think he has the favourite for 10/11 races priced up ...

I gave up on ante-post bets a few year ago.  I would say half the battle is getting the selection to post let alone the horse winning.  The world hurdle looks to have one hell of a horse in Thistlecrack if anyone saw the long hurdle from Newbury.

I only started punting a few years ago, and enjoy the challenge of trying to get a big priced punt there.

WH definitely looks tough, given how impressive Thistlecrack has been.

I went to newbury and backed Thistlecrack, looked good then but the Ascot run made him look even better. It takes a hell of a lot to keep horses sound all year , let alone at their best but really hope this one is up to it.

I almost backed him for the WH before that race @ 8/1, but didn't pull the trigger.

No doubt be chucking it in some starchasers though Grin

Forgotten Rules, Garde Le Victoire and MTOY do the business on day 1 you are freerolling the rest of the festival.  I quite like Forgotten Rules myself to spring a surprise.  Really is a great week if you are going to Cheltenham.

Ha! I'll be surprised if I even get 3 runners from those.

Went in 2006, but wasn't remotely interested in racing, and just sat in the box drinking champagne & vodka all day.

Bit too manic for me nowadays, and I might get there in time for the NH Chase, if I got dropped off at the entrance around 10am Cheesy
