Who has a will?

How many people make wills? How often do you amend them? How old were you when you first made your will? When/why would you suggest to make one and how often would you suggest to amend it.
With poker its kind of weird because I have accounts people would never find out were me, or people owing me money that they'd never realise etc etc

I haven't got one, but I'm a peasant
I'd definitely have one if I had assets, or dependants, though.
You should definitely have one, Pads.
Well, imo.

i made one when married. redid it when divorced
i think you should have one, easy and cheap to do
in your position, where i am assuming you have significant sums online and outside banks etc i would write it all down, including passwords etc and a) either put it in a safety deposit box with access details in the will or b) with a solicitor etc in a sealed envelope so that if the worst were to happen your executor could speak to the sites/other parties to assist in sorting out your affairs for your beneficiaries

I haven't got one Pads mainly because i am not married, got no dependents and have a very simple financial situation with no debts. My brother and mum know my betfair password though for this reason. I don't hold cash in any significant amount on any other site. I would strongly suggest you get on though in your position.

Have been meaning to get one for years but it just never happened. Recently MIL passed away and she did the WHSmith do it your self jobbie for about £15 which flew through the Probate process, although as you might expect her estate was very straight forward. Without that will it could have been a mare.
On the back of that I finally got my done by a solicitor at a cost of £190 for the wife and I. He identified a nice little touch that would protect our kids inheritance, we would never have known this our self and worth the fee alone. They really are a must.
Regards
Steve

This. My Dad didn't have a will and whenever my Mum asked him to do one, he shrugged his shoulders and said 'ah, you'll get it all eventually'. This was true, she did eventually get everything he left when he died, but it was a lot of red tape, bureaucracy and hassle that you don't need when you are grieving.
Be interesting to see what happens between PokerStars and the benefactor of a deceased poker player, I presume it's not easy getting their poker money back.

If it happened to me i would imagine my mother could just email betfair and prove i had died, prove she was next of kin and the money would be sent back to my bank account. Why would anything other than that happen? Then my estate, including my bank account, would just be distributed as it would normally given i don't have a will.
