nightfly, the fact is in every cardroom u get a minority that want to abuse as much as the rules as thay can, my advise to u need to set a corner stone and suspend one or two of the offenders ( if only for a short while ). and let that be a warning to every other that comes to ur cardroom, its happened in walsall recently and the others seem to be falling in line. although some quicker than others, no cardroom is perfect belive me i know.

u seem like a good guy and hav a ginuwine intrest for the game, so as u are a inspector that runs the room insist to the management that u want to sit in there meetings and creat a case of the cardroom to have its dealers, after all its an attendace driver that can creat alot to revenue

good luck with ur progress

This may have been answered previously but how exactly do you sort dealers out?
I know, i know, i know i only ever talk about walsall but hey it's the only self dealing place i've been to................
They/we just get drawn out and if your 10/11 (depend how many per table) you deal. OR stand there and ask every player who sits down if they wanna deal and if not it's from the button (very rarely does noone deal)

So how does this work?
Everyone who wants to deal puts their name on the board and first 10 (or whatever) get chosen???

Players volunteer to deal.

I think they get a free meal and a tip from the winners. Normally around 20 squid.

Hang on... non-house dealers get a free meal and a 20 tip from the winners of a competition?

Surely that's a gratuity in respect of gaming?

Surely that's a direct breach of the Prohibition of Gratuities Regulations?

In Walsall the non-house dealers get nowt but the eternal and undying love of their fellow players... not!

Question: What can the gaming board (and casino) do to stop it?

Answer: Nothing, they can just make sure the casino knows nothing about it.

That's the bottom line. The rules are unenforcable and therefore a joke.

What next, a law saying I can not spend my winnings on a celebratory beer?

edit: I would also like to add that i think these rules, designed to protect the average gamer, are actually doing the opposite and exposing them to more risk.

This is just my opinion though and i don't work in the gaming industry.

I agree about the gaming boards new cardroom directives they just make a joke of things, although it did help with a few problems we have in blackpool in regards to self dealt cashgames, but the new "all games must be played to a conclusion" hasnt really made a blind bit of difference.

The cash game idea (where you have to be playing in order to deal) isnt so bad but soem players dont seem to realise its not the casino's rule, its something imposed on us by the wonderful gaming board and they are intent on stamping down on it so we have to enforce it properly thus incurring much aggro from petty individuals who THINK they have found ways they can exploit it which we dont know about

The cash game idea (where you have to be playing in order to deal)

What is this meant to achieve/stop?

I can't see it stopping a bent dealer from cheating, and can't think of other things it would be favourable to stop (in relation to dealing in cash games).
