Rob M was sponsoring a spot prize this season for highest game week rank. I notice this week Strike Gould made it to 2035 on the week which I don't think has been beaten.

Any other claims for that so far? Please come forward.

Highest game week rank in any league in any game week wins the RobM prize. A bonus £50 I think. Details will be itt somewhere.

I think your rank this week is the best so far.

Details?

Sorry lads, I'm wintering in Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and I wasn't able to update the FA Cup as I was travelling. Can you do that Greg? Also the Champions League will be starting soon and I'm not back till the New Year so can you liaise with Mere on that? He has a wonderful spreadsheet set up that you just need to cut and paste from.

Champions League

31 x £15 = £465
Winner - £240
Runner up - £135
Beaten semi finalists - £45 x 2

There are 31 entrants (MereNovice is the 32nd but he's Merely there to admin)

Champions League is scheduled to start GW18.
All 31 teams will be drawn into 8 groups of 4 (with one 'bye') and will play 2 round robin matches against each other for a total of 6 matches. Teams will receive 3pts for a win, 1pt for a draw.

Teams will be seeded according to their positions in the league at the time of the draw.

The top 8 in the league will all be 1st seeds, teams positioned 9th-16th will be 2nd seeds, teams positioned 17th-24th will be 3rd seeds and teams positioned 25th-32nd (32nd will be a 'bye') will be 4th seeds.

The top 2 in each group will qualify for the last 16 where 2 leg matches will be played until the final.

Champions League
GW18-GW23 = group matches
GW24/GW25 = last 16
GW26/GW27 = last 8
GW28/GW29 = semi finals
GW30 = Champions League final.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All -4 hits in a GW will be deducted from your Cup score in that GW. This applies to all cup competitions.
If at any point a GW has less than 6 matches (due to postponements), the Cup GW will be declared void and the fixtures will move to the following week.

All draws will be administered by MereNovice and will be posted in the thread in advance.

Pleasure.
I guess you're referring to the DRC which could be problematic! But we're planning (and have already paid for) a couple of treks there. One up a volcano with a lava lake which are sleeping overnight at and then a trek to see the wild gorillas. The DRC has been relatively stable for the last while but as you probably know, it could kick off badly in the next week.

In the Last Man Standing, we lose Peter-27 and his Indian Magpies who scored just one more point than his name predicted with 28 for the game week.

On we go to GW18 where one of you will be fired!

Last two weeks have been an absolute car crash for me. Not going well at all.

Thank you for the opportunity Lord Alan.
