Returning to blonde for the first time in a long while.

Although I wish it was under better circumstances, it's been lovely to see you.

agree, wish it had been for a different reason but very nice to see people like Neil Channing, Denis O'Mahoney, Nem, Peter Costa and others posting

it goes without saying it would be great if they posted more, again

Agreed, sad circumstances. Happy to gaze upon the wonder that is the moustache in your avatar picture again though Mr Mcready. Been a few years since I've seen your handsome mug in that little box.

I hope you and yours are faring well.

Well unfortunately I can't wax lyrical about any aspect of your visage, but your excellent prose and your often caustic but always entertaining posts have been sorely missed.

My lot are fine thank you. How is that daughter of yours doing? She must be what, 5 or 6 by now?

Molly's 8 now (9 next month!) the years fly by.

The brood now also includes Mark (5) and my partner's child Ben (6)
They all get on well together - we merged families a few years ago when they were much younger.

I'm enjoying the real life grind. Think I'm a much less caustic chap now I don't play the computer pokers 14 hours a day. Some folk are able to do it as a hobby and stay balanced, not me unfortunately. I'm an all or nothing personality. 'All' meant bad times so it's had to be nothing. Don't miss the poker but do miss the people.

I had visions of some ninety year old blokes in a line up with their tackle out.

9 next month? Wow!

You have a Mark and a Ben? Wow!

I no longer play poker for a living, the game sort of moved on and left me behind but I do still enjoy it as a hobby.

I didn't mean caustic in a bad way by the way, (way too many ways in that sentence) I probably should have said acerbic wit.

I remember the first time I met you, it was at a festival in Blackpool ~ 2005. I couldn't believe the chap who wrote all that insightful stuff on blonde would wear a beige suit and a pork pie hat.

Happy days.
