Adults taking their birthday seriously are ridiculous. "Oh I can't go then, it's my birthday weekend". Grow up FFS.
Do you not think they are using their birthday as an excuse to not go to something which they don't want to go to? I cannot believe there are many adults who treat the birthday with anything other than a shrug, a sigh and "another bloody year older" I know loads of adults who treat their birthdays very much as they would when they were kids. Women mostly but not exclusively. I also know an adult who gets 'Easter Presents' which I didn't even know was a thing. Is the Easter presents person a devout Christian? Nope not at all. Literally just a spoilt child who is now an adult (bless her)

Now that's an interesting one. why do you think that? Even I would put a threshold on this, first £100k (possibly more/less) is exempt.

Hmm. Wait until it's your child and see how you feel. its a hard one I know and have had people close to me pass away and expecting another one in net few days, but as a whole we are living longer already and its a massive drain on all resources, what happens when we cure cancer / aids and all the other nasty things? people live longer and longer being more of a drain to the worlds resources until we reach the point we cant sustain it. Sounds a bit like the Dan Brown book but it does have a sense of truth about it.

Want the country to develop even more reckless spending habits than already exist? Never sure if you are serious when you come out with these extreme left wing views. I would agree if it meant every kid had to work his own way to the top from nothing to provide motivation which a lot of rich kids lack.

People who go to watch darts and sing inane songs and barely watch any of the sport should be tagged, and a list of their names circulated to warn other members of society that they are in their midst.
Also people who go racing on Saturdays and spend the entire afternoon at the bar. And then cause trouble. WTF is the point? Why don't they just save the £25 entrance money and go down the pub? Going racing at weekends is horrendous, haven't been in 10 years or more. How do you know it's still horrendous? Just go in members/go to a small track. Cheltenham fetival is pretty hard going. Am I ok to do stuff on birthdays ending in zero? 9 out of 10 I just shrug and move on, but going to get some shit done next year to mark it.

I think even more relevantly it's a socialist idea which just doesn't work. In practice it would mean all the super rich who could afford to plan it out would make sure all their assets would get passed on in other ways before they die - so relatively little redistribution from them. The middle classes would go from a property owning class to a renting class - given that the most likely way of getting on the property ladder now is by inheriting into it. And on the off chance you had some working class done good - their family would immediately revert to being working class again. If anything it would be a perfect opportunity to make sure that everybody was kept in their place and quashed any ideas about social mobility.

The tickets for these 'lolracedays' are the most expensive of the year even though the racing is garbage. Certainly makes my annual members fee a lot cheaper. Xmas party race day at Uttox tomorrow should be total carnage with once a year piss heads donking around the betting ring covering people in fosters whilst getting their £2.50 ew on. Must start charging my friends whenever they borrow something. I'll explain it's the value to them, not what it is going to cost me (zero), that I'm charging for.
