Hey All,

By some miracle I won a Significant amount of money tonight on Partypoker (think 5 figs plus)

Now I never win that kind of money so dont normally care but would appreciate some advice on the best way to withdraw? E.g

£/$, transfer to bank/card

Does it even matter?

And help would be appreciated

Thanks
Dan

one thing i would say is that casino withdrawals take much longer than poker withdrawals

if that affects you here, be prepared whether you withdraw to bank or card

you want to withdraw to an acount with the same base currency as your party poker account.

when party are kind enough to facilitate conversions they will not exactly provide you the best rate....

if you haven't deposited via a method you cant then withdraw to it, so setting up a new method to do a big withdrawal isn't an option.

so either withdraw to the acc you deposited via originally and take the substantial hit, or swap with people for other sites/currencies/cash/skrill etc (there are lots of groups of skype chats where people do this because it's such a common problem).

TY not sure I know enough people to contact people via Skype etc.

Ive deposited in $ etc, but when I go to withdraw it gives the option of $ or £.

If I withdraw in $ will my bank convert it? And in £ then Party converts?

you deposited in $ from  a gbp account  ? if so party do the conversion..... and same will apply in reverse.

Ok lovely thanks.

Take it theres no value in changing base currency first before withdraw?

Can I change my account currency after I have set it?

Yes. Simply visit the 'Your profile' page of your account, select the 'Edit' option on the page select your preferred currency from the drop-down menu, and hit the 'Save' button. You can change your account currency once. If you need to change your account currency a second time, please contact our Customer Care team. Remember, every time you change your account currency you will have to pay a conversion charge based on the current exchange rate.

I have to admit when I first glanced at this question I hopped in expecting to give advice on the best way to handle withdrawals from playing too much poker instead of the actual process of withdrawing winnings. Haha. I can't be the only one, right? Someone. Moving on. Congratulations on your 5 figure win. I've never past the three digits.
