Times have changed oh-so-much, & I suppose mainly for the better, but as a cheap & cheerful & completely free game we played at school, was there ever a better game than the Yes-No Interlude?

The trick is to have a bunch of alternate words like 'definitely' and 'definitely not' lined up. I recall being quite good at that at school.

I went to see Paul Sinha (who is a chaser, comedian and featured a lot in that doc) do stand-up and he did a Q&A afterwards. I asked him what the secret was to retaining all the facts and he said that with few exceptions all the big quizzers memorised a lot of this stuff from an early age. Kevin Ashman had memorised state capitals and whatnot by the time he was four apparently.

Damn you Barry, you were supposed to say "yes". Or "no".

Has anyone been watching Monkman & Seagull's Genius Guide to Britain on BBC2?  Along with Eric Monkman Bobby Seagull was also apparently a cult favourite among University Challenge fans when they competed for rival Cambridge colleges during the 2017 series. They also published a quiz book together in 2017.

If not here's a link to the iplayer Episode 1. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bl1vp2/monkman-seagulls-genius-guide-to-britain-series-1-1-england

I enjoyed them muchly on UC, but that Genius Guide missed the spot for me. All a bit forced, &, well, boring. The sort of thing snobs like Nirvana would claim to enjoy.

I specialise in inverted snobbery these days. Saw about 3 mins of that programme, had to turn it off and get back to 'Eat well for Less'.

Darren wasn't impressed. I'm a bit of a Science geek and there's still alot I don't know so I found a few of the places they visited interesting. I doubt they'll get a second series unless there are radical changes.

How radical?

Wolfson, Monkman...and Johnny Vegas?

Wolfson and Monkman on ice?

Wolfson and Monkman go to Vegas?

Wolfson and Monkman v Predator?
