That's proper news not something from hanrahanhanrahan.

Why is this news though, I did some research and 90% of people don't care about labels so some conflict here methinks

Where have you heard this? 20% seems way higher than my [personal opinion based on nothing concrete].

I believe it's the label for people who do not align with any predetermined sexuality/gender identity. Beyond that I'm not entirely sure how to explain it.

Life is much simpler as a straight bloke who likes birds with big jugs and arses n that.

Take it to the bank:

http://lgbtweekly.com/2017/04/01/new-glaad-study-reveals-20-percent-of-millennials-identify-as-lgbtq/

Q is queer or Questioning as I found out today, apparently the initialism could be much longer, Two Spirited anyone ?

http://ok2bme.ca/resources/kids-teens/what-does-lgbtq-mean/

Obviously I have a slight agenda, I'm all for the level of positive discrimination necessary to get us to the relatively enlightened position most people I know have today. Concerned at the need for everyone to identify themselves as something or another.

I guess I'm none of the above so harder to understand why people feel the need quite so strongly these days to 'identify'. I'm pretty indifferent to your self identification, just as I am to someone who self identifies as a footie fan or Tory or any other better analogy.

Adding this at the end of the story does not add to its credibility.

"This online survey is not based on a probability sample and, therefore, no estimate of theoretical sampling error can be calculated"

Hmm, i mean homophobia has far from upped and vanished. We're still yet to reach a time where people can openly express their sexuality without fear, but as far as i can see these statistics lend much to suggesting positive progress on this front.
