Inspired by this

"Dippy the dinosaur may be gone, but Hope the blue whale adds a glorious new dimension to the Natural History Museum"

https://www.spectator.co.uk/2017/08/the-newly-refurbished-natural-history-museum-is-glorious/

please give me recommendations for museums, national trust properties, stately homes, parks etc that i must visit.

(yes, i know i am old) (over/under ten responses?)

I'll take the overs.

I went here a few times. Disraeli's former residence is full of interesting exhibits and memorabilia, as well as being set in a lovely part of "England's green and pleasant lands" - just outside High Wycombe! - where you can walk the dog and have a picnic, weather permitting. For those who aren't familiar with it, National Trust membership is great value as long as you visit a couple of places every year.

Burghley House

"Looking for spectacular interiors? It doesn't get more lavish than Burghley House, where more than 35 opulently decorated rooms fill the ground and first floors (but there are more than 80 in the entire property). The house is renowned for its ‘hell staircase’ - the ceiling of which was painted by Verrio as his last commission at Burghley."

Well worth a look, also following the Freemason Line Rosslyn Chapel in well worth a look if you're in that neck of the wood.

Arundel Castle - http://www.arundelcastle.org/  Warning its fantastically expensive.
Not like anything I have ever seen before, more opulence then Buc House and Sandringham. and the chapel is as breath taking as the Sistine.  The cricket history might be a good tie in for you as well.

Holkham Hall - https://www.holkham.co.uk/
The best bit of Palladian architecture in the world, it is quite breath taking.

Houghton Hall - https://www.houghtonhall.com/
The building and decoration is well worth a visit, and the political history of the place fascinating, however the gardens and buildings within are again unlike anything I ever seen before.  Well worth taking the tour guide as so much of Britain's political history is based there in some way.

Felbrigg Hall - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felbrigg_Hall
Well if you are in Norfolk anyway . . . its just a standard Country house but the gardens especially the Victorian ground with the orangery is the most peaceful place for me in the world.

Oxburgh Hall - https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/oxburgh-hall
Old, very old 15th century(?), great moat just a nice place to be.

Talk of Beaulieu reminded me of this place, you used to be able to rent cars from them too.
