This is jaw-dropping, if true.

Pretty much what I thought when I read it.  It would be 20 feet high over a wider area?

What has struck me is just similar these are to those in Macau just a few days ago.   Two very severe storms in such a short period.  Whilst they aren't the oft-used "unprecedented", they are pretty close.

Some spots may get 50+ inches. Many textbooks have the 60-inch mark as a once-in-a-million-year event.

Really excellent piece about how Houston built right over the wetlands that are crucial to preventing floods.

15 people killed by the flooding in Houston is terrible.

In the same few days, 1,200 people have died as a result of 1 in 10 year flooding in India, Bangladesh & Nepal - 130 in Bangladesh, 150 in Nepal and the rest in India. Didn't make the news.
