The 2005 Grosvenor Grand Prix
«
on:

The details of this year's Grosvenor Grand Prix are emerging.
Qualifiers begin in August - won't be long - and blonde will be following Grosvenor's Flagship Tournament from start to finish.
Prize Money this year is GUARANTEED to be not less than 250,000.
We have the dates and venues for all the qualifiers, and will be updating and naming the list of qualifiers on a daily basis throughout the 6 week qualifying period.
Without Grosvenor's permission & co-operation, it would not have been possible to bring you Live Updates from all of this year's Grosvenor Festivals, so blonde always have been supportive of Grosvenor.
Tomorrow, we will bring you the qualifying Dates and Venues, so you can get them in your Diary.
And after that, we shall tell you how the competition, for which you can qualify for 100, works.
OK, your starter for 10. How many blondeites do you think will qualify for this?

I hope this event surpasses all expectations. I was only saying to JR (AlrightJack) last week that this tournament is my goal for the year. I love the concept and from what I have seen in previous years it really produces some quality poker.

The Grosvenor Grand Prix has always been my fave comp of the year, & I have qualified early & cheaply each year. To be in the equivelant of a 1,500 comp for 100 or 200 is a lovely feeling!
Huge chirp value, too.
"You qualified for the GP yet?".
"Nope, you?"
"Yup, first time of asking, easy peasy". (wanders off whistling happily....).
Repeat to every player you meet. Every night. Rinse and repeat.

Correct. Strictly speaking they are "qualifiers", but yes, they are rebuy satellites.
15% of entries to EACH qualifier qualify automatically.
60 runners, 9 seats, 80 runners, 12 seats, & so on.
You must NOT, never not know how, play them as a normal comp - you are NOT there to win the qualifier, just be in the top 15%.

Buts its so amusing seeing people with loads and loads of chips doing them in as they continually call everything, before bubbling.
HEHEHEHEHE.
Stanley Grand Prix?
Poor imitation. Lets people buy in to the main event, at a 1000 a pop, which is all the satellites are.

The stanleys one is 100,000 guarranteed FIRST PRIZE, methinks there might be a deal as surely second will be pale by comparison.
It is in Birmingham, Star City casino and qualifying has started from 10.

Anyone can buy into the Stanleys one, 1,000.
The Grosvenor one is unbuyintoable. (New word, just made that one up). Don't matter who you are. You can NOT buy into the Grosvenor Grand Prix, the only route is via a qualifier.

Rob (Nigtfly) has corrected me on "unbuyintoable". He says this is improper English. Apparently it should be unbuyinableto. If you COULD buy in, it would then be unbuyinabletoless.
Anyway, here are the qualifying dates & venues......
Blackpool September 11th, 19th
October 1st, 10th
Bolton September 22nd
October 6th
Brighton September 8th, 15th, 22nd
October 6th
Cardiff September 8th, 22nd
October 13th
Huddersfield September 6th, 20th
October
Luton September 11th, 25th
October 2nd, 10th
Liverpool September 7th, 28th
October 11th
Newcastle September 21st
October 4th
Ramsgate September 1st, 29th
October
Salford September 26th
October 3rd, 9th
Southampton September 20th, 27th
October 4th, 11th
Swansea September 26th
October
Victoria August 28th
September 3rd, 17th
October 9th, 13th
Walsall September 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
October 5th, 12th, 13th
Bluesquare August 19th, 26th
September 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
October 7th
Grand Prix Final October 15th & 16th
So, a good varierty of Venues & dates. My advice would be to Qualify at Blackpool, that looks to be the easiest venue.
