Elise Christie... Obviously one of the big stories of the games again for GB.

Unlucky, or just not good enough in the crunch times? I know she's a world champion so she's obviously good. Is she just trying too much when she knows a lot of the country will be watching in the Olympic finals?

You obviously have to be pretty hardcore to do that sport, and there are plenty of fallers particularly when it really matters.

I feel it is likely one of those occasions where people try and fit reasons to what they have seen when the likelihood is she is just running bad. If she wants to win she has to take the fine margins.  She won 2 World Championship golds last season, so she can't really bottle the big occasions.  If people had seen those events on the BBC, they wouldn't be saying she can't handle the big occasion.

But no-one would have seen the Worlds, the fact that she knows she has a lot of people watching maybe adds a lot of pressure to her, she knows what happened last games and the bbc seem to have made a huge deal of it and portrayed her as some kind of martyr of the British cause. As you say she has to take the fine margins, it does seem a very unforgiving sport where even if you do everything correct you still might get taken out by someone falling inside of you. So maybe she's just been very unlucky, every time it comes to the crunch.

And Elsie Christies Olympics finish the only way they could. Too injured to realistically race she took the start, clipped a heel and damaged her ankle even more, managed to somehow get up and start, decided to stay out the back and weave her way through, took the inside route a few times initiating contact with a couple of them, got herself up into second, carried off the track back to the dressing room.

Turns out she got a yellow card and disqualified from the event.

There's penalties in seemingly every race so surely the tactic would have been to take the outside line and stay out of trouble? I know that's the longer route, and probably would have put more strain on her outside ankle, also against the way you would want to race I guess.

The interview with her afterwards was painful  she clearly wanted to get away and the guy kept asking her questions.

Lot of respect for her for even getting out there and giving it a go with ankle ligament damage though.

Of course back in the studio she was the fallen hero, the guy they asked for an opinion on it said she was rightfully kicked out unfortunately though.

Any Rocket Surgeons out there?

They're good at maths, apparently.

Winter Olympics colour commentators have plumbed new depths, lol

No sweeping in the para curling? Thought sweeping was the big thing considering how manic it all is? Either sweeping and all the screaming is a con or the paras ain't curling.
