The Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) select committee's report into combatting doping is a devastating blow to the reputations of some of the biggest names in British sport.

To Lord Coe, the most powerful figure in world athletics and architect of the London 2012 Olympic Games, who is accused by the select committee of misleading parliament about when he first knew of corruption allegations.

To British Cycling, for so long the country's best-funded, most successful and respected sports governing body, where a "serious failure" to keep basic medical records, was deemed "unprofessional and inexcusable".

And to UK Athletics, whose former chief medical officer Dr Rob Chakraverty - now the Football Association's chief doctor for the senior men's England football team - the MPs want investigated by the General Medical Council (GMC), after being "shocked" he gave an injection of L-carnitine to athlete Sir Mo Farah without recording the dose on medical records.

While not disagreeing on politicians in general, in this case what's the benefit to the politicians?

Was looking to see who was on the committee, but there was a lot of people interviewed and a lot of evidence led https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201719/cmselect/cmcumeds/366/36602.htm. Don't think that political bias can be used to excuse doping IMO.

That story about the courier not knowing what was in the package, and there being no record of what was in it at Team Sky told me all I needed to know.

Very sad, really.

Do we have any genuine champions other than Andy Murray?

Be good to have some more nominations on here to make us feel a little less sad.

I understand that Alan Pardew is 100% drug-free.

Was it doping though if you get a TUE ? They used TUE as a way round of getting triamcinolone. It will be interesting to hear Wiggins
comments in a few days.

Would much prefer these select committee's seek criminal charges brought against those who brought about the financial
crisis in 2007-2008.

Or those such as Sir Phillip Green and Dominic Chappell and the bosses of Carillion getting their just deserts for using
pension pots as their own private piggy bank.

Really enjoy watching the grilling they get but total underwhelmed at getting a meaningful result.

Certainly would not like to mess with Frank Field !

The report was supposedly about doping in sport, when really it was an attack on Team Sky wnd Mo Farah, with a crappy intro put on the front as veneer to its real purpose.  Even then the attack is so flimsy as to be near worthless.  We have heard and seen a bunch of stuff that looks a bit suspicious; we haven't been able to sustantiate it; but feck it, we'll publish some innuendo anyway.

It is probably right that parliamentary privelege exists, but I am not at all convinced this is a shining argument for it.

Don't get me started on Frank Field and Philip Green.
