For a variety of reasons it had been over seven years since I had been to DTD until this last weekend.
With some help from Adam Sharples I returned on Saturday for the APAT Team Event.
Sadly, only two of our team of intrepid fund raisers made day two so a repeat of last year’s silver medal wasn’t to be.

But I had forgotten just how high the standard of organisation and of the dealers is. Quiet, efficient, and with great rapport for the players Ryan and his team had the place purring.

The highlight for me was a final table appearance in the Sunday afternoon side event which wins me a small profit for the weekend (10% to our fundraising group and ultimately to CLIC Sargeant) and a Grand Prix ticket. I used to have a decent record in those...

I got up there for the Millions event late in 2018, I think it was. Even with marquees attached, and what looked like organised chaos, everything still ran surprisingly smoothly.

Wish i wasn't so far away, I'd make the effort to donate my money more often in the UK.
