So my A/P portfolio is pretty light...

So how did that work out Marky?

I haven't got a single ante post bet up this year, though I have a bit of interest through the ten to follow comp.  I definitely need to get some videos watched, as I have been pretty slack on keeping up this year.  I bought the timeform chasers and hurdlers this year too, and that has been barely read so far.

I have booked the betting emporium meal in London again this time, so need to get studying or I am going to come across as such a noob.  Is anyone else going ths time?

Sadly, not me, the timing could not have been worse, I'd loved to have been there but I'm going to have to miss it again.

Maybe I'll just follow Marky in...

They'll be on their way to Tescos, if your cash is weighing them down as well!

I don't get why Honeysuckle is getting aimed at the Mares.  Benie Des Dieux is better than Epatante and Honeysuckle could easily be better than both.  In a normal year I can see why the mares might appeal, but this isn't a normal year.

Marky is your issue getting out from London or getting into Cheltenham racecourse?  I am an hour North of London on the train, but have an estate and the back seats go down.  Sure I can help you with the important stuff when there like betting and beers.   Guess we are both nightowls so getting up really early in the morning might be an issue.

The place is pretty rammed but there is a lot of concrete and lifts about and away from Gold Cup day I guess the chair can still get about.  I went on Tuesday last year, which wasn't too painful, it is probably the best day anyway.

Still think it's undecided, and would imagine they'll end up going for the Champion, as I don't think they're going to run Benie over 2 miles at the Festival.

I meant Neil's do. It's just the 3hr drive to London parking, wheelchair etc. Appreciate the offer, though. Very kind.

I haven't got a scooter this side of the pond, though might get one soon Cheesy

We were gonna get a villa in Tenerife again, but one of the lads is getting married in June, and then going to Vegas as well, so we scrapped it again. I've always been tempted to go back to Cheltenham now I actually like racing, but I'm not too fond of crowds, especially when they're as big as the ones down there!

Neil's do is sold out now, so it is probably too late, but if you want to go next year give me a shout.  It is on a Saturday and near Farringdon station.   Sure I can shove you up the hill if needed, and it is easy for me to get there early if needed.  I will have a recce this year to see how accessible it is.  I think there may be cobbles outside and it is downstairs in a basement, but just read on their site that it is wheelchair accessible.  Guess there must be a lift that I missed.

It is really very good though.  I got way more back through betting than I paid for the event last year.  It is just a really useful evening for crystalising your thoughts and pickimg up on stuff you have missed.  Half the audience seem really knowledgeable too, so you can really pick a lot of stuff up.  There is very little chaff to sift through, though you do get the odd loudmouth who doesn't realise they aren't offering much (possinbly me?).  I wouldn't pay £100 for that meal, but it is likely a £50 meal once you include the free wine, so you are only paying £50 for the info.

Book me in for next year, then. I'll drive up to Twickenham or something, and get a hotel. I can grab a cab into town for the meal. If they can drop me at the front door of the pub, I'll fall down the stairs easily enough, lol.

I've not listened to one Final Furlong Pod this year, and I used to listen religiously. I try to listen to the RP cheltenham vlogs when I get the chance, and I've probably read the Weekender 2/3 times since I got back from Vegas in the summer. By the time the previews come around, I've normally done 90% of my betting, so watching those is good for clarity on stuff you've done, and to maybe pick up something you may have missed. You only need one or two bits and it pays for itself, as you say.

Maybe I can guilt Russ Wiseman into reopening my SB account, if I really lay it on thick Grin

Russ Wiseman does reopen SB acounts if you speak to him.  So long as you reasonable volume and don't do shady stuff I think you'll be ok.  He has made the offer each time I have gone.

I will try and remember to give you a nudge when the invite comes round next year

I never had the account long enough to do anything shady Cheesy

I did whack the casino for a few quid back along on slots, but that's never going to flag a sports account.

We'll have to get Tikay on the red wine!

Blimey! I thought you said you hadn't had many bets this year.

Good luck with that little lot mate.

Blast from the past!

Should get a decent sweat off that lucky 15 Smiley

I would be worried about Verdana on the first day in the ground, though.

Good luck, mate.
