Cheltenham 2020 Thread
«

Under 4 weeks to go, so might as well get one going.
I've not had much time to watch much racing live this year, nevermind sifting through replays, with work being so busy.
So my A/P portfolio is pretty light, and will have to do more starchasing on the day this year
Anyone gotten involved much so far?
Will chuck the bits I do have up, and all the dead stuff, too.

So my A/P portfolio is pretty light...
So how did that work out Marky?
I haven't got a single ante post bet up this year, though I have a bit of interest through the ten to follow comp. I definitely need to get some videos watched, as I have been pretty slack on keeping up this year. I bought the timeform chasers and hurdlers this year too, and that has been barely read so far.
I have booked the betting emporium meal in London again this time, so need to get studying or I am going to come across as such a noob. Is anyone else going ths time?

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Not really evaluated it as of yet, but know I've got some good spots, and some dead ones. It's just happened by default, rather than me planning to bet less. Work so busy I've not had time, so just been watching what I can, and trying to nick prices here and there.
Think I've been lucky not to have done much, as this year looks really tough. Reckon I'd have done some dough if I had gotten properly involved, and may well still do some money, just can't do my conkers.
I'd like to do it one year, but to/from london is such a pita for me. Have to stick with Facebook/Youtube livestreams of the preview evenings.

Blimey, if that's light I don't know what the f*** I've been doing with my time.
So far got interests in :
Champion Hurdle Darver Star
RSA Minella Indo
Gold Cup Al Boum Photo
All within the last few weeks so not at fancy prices.
I think the Champion Chase is fascinating this year with a really strong top end, the Gold Cup will be the toughest for a few years & the Champion Hurdle is really interesting as you can make a case against any of the the top of the market.

Sadly, not me, the timing could not have been worse, I'd loved to have been there but I'm going to have to miss it again.
Maybe I'll just follow Marky in...

I've not totted it up this year, as I've just treated it as more of a point and punt. I'm guessing I should have totted, as it might not be quite as small a book as I thought
I backed LiT & DW after the festival last year, and was going to lay LiT when he went shorter than Al Boum for the GC, as that was crazy. I didn't, and just decided to take the sweat with everything. Apart from Envoi in the Supreme, where I backed him @ 20/1 with Padraig, and laid him at 5/1 on the machine.
I've got Chacun a/r with Tikay's mob that I managed to snipe after he beat DDS last year, bu the only cover I have on that race is Defi in a JP trixie.
Might have a freebet treble on your three, just for japes
CH looks super weak, and very open. CC should be the race of the festival, now they've confirmed Defi.
