5. Cardiff Blues were founded in which year? Clue >2000

Clue >2000 should have helped a few people. Someone managed to put 1920 as an answer. Being the kindly soul I am I let him change a few of the answers that included a ">" in the question. I won't name names but I'm sure he'll hold his hand up at some point.

The Blues formed in 2003.

Quite a few correct answers for this.

 Tighty   2003   0
Berger   2003   0
Karamd   2003   0
Juperj   2002   1
Arbboy   2004   1
Karab   2004   1
Dacorb   2001   2
Scotty   2005   2
Celtic.   2006   3
Pokerp   2008   5
Bunnyd   2008   5
Doobs   2009   6
Nirvana   2010   7
Ironsid   2010   7

Dacorb stays top, Tighty climbs into the top three. Celtic continues his to five dominance. Only 50 points separating third from last but one. Scotty unfortunately adrift without a paddle.

Dacorb   69
Arbboy   86
Tighty   93
Ironsid   96
Celtic.   99
Doobs   103
Karamad   109
Berger   112
Bunnyd   118
Nirvana   123
Juperj   129
Pokerp   141
Karab   144
Scotty   232

6. The Millennium Stadium hosted all major Football matches when Wembley closed for Re-development. It became known as the “away team hoodoo” when the first how many matches were won by the team in the home dressing room?

An incredible 11 matches won by the home team. I did think a Football nerd would know this and it seems there are two amongst us. one I'm sure everyone would have had money on.

Tighty   11   0
Juperj   11   0
Karmad   12   1
Doobs   10   1
Berger   9   2
Nirvana   13   2
Bunnyd   8   3
Arbboy   8   3
Scotty   15   4
Karab   7   4
Dacorb   5   6
Pokerp   5   6
Celtic.   5   6
Ironsid   25   14

Tighty with his third win on the spin but not enough to leapfrog Dacorb and Arbboy. Big blunder by Ironside which could cost him dearly. Lots of people bunching in mid table. The next question could be make or break.
Dacorb   75
Arbboy   89
Tighty   93
Doobs   104
Celtic.   105
Karmad   110
Ironsid   110
Berger   114
Bunnyd   121
Nirvana   125
Juperj   129
Pokerp   147
Karab   148
Scotty   236

7. Wales played England at the Arms Park in the last International match there in 1997. Bowing out in that match were two legends, Jonathan Davies and Will Carling. How many caps did they have between them, Rugby Union only? Clue > 100

This was Tighty's answer:

7. 113 obviously jiffy went to RL so its something like 35 and high 70s

It was actually 37 for Jonathan Davies and 72 for Will Carling., 109 in total.

I was at the dinner for this game and both were called to the head table to be awarded commemorative caps as they had both announced their retirement in the lead up to the game. And then, like so many of us have had to do in Rugby Clubs up and down the Country, they had to down a pint of Strongbow. They were both shite.

Tighty   113   4
Doobs   120   11
Dacorb   130   21
Berger   136   27
Nirvana   140   31
Arbboy   142   33
Ironsid   150   41
Bunnyd   150   41
Scotty   165   56
Karmad   165   56
Pokerp   177   68
Celtic.   187   78
Karab   199   90
Juperj   203   94

Dacorb keeps the lead he has held since round two, just. Tighty with his fourth win moves ominously into second. Doobs makes a rare venture into the top three. Arb and Berger make up the top five. Are Ironside, Bunny, Nirvana and Karmadope out of it?

 Dacorb   96
Tighty   97
Doobs   115
Arbboy   122
Berger   141
Ironsid   151
Nirvana   156
Bunnyd   162
Karmad   166
Celtic.   183
Pokerp   215
Juperj   223
Karab   238
Scotty   292

8. Billy Hardy holds Cardiff City’s record appearance with how many games under his belt? Clue > 500

FA Cup hero, Billy Hardy amassed 590 caps, playing until he was 41 years old.

Tighty   600   10
Karmad   600   10
Ironsid   600   10
Karab   619   29
Bunnyd   620   30
Dacorb   550   40
Doobs   550   40
Berger   540   50
Celtic.   652   62
Pokerp   522   68
Scotty   666   76
Arbboy   675   85
Nirvana   750   160
Juperj   765   175

Tighty has now won the last five rounds and Dacorb finally succumbs to the relentless bombardment from the Leicester Tiger. Bad round for Arbboy sees him slip out of the top five. Ironside and Karmadope make a late charge and Scotty moves off bottom as Juperj proves he isn't a Football nerd as I might have implied earlier.

Tighty   107
Dacorb   136
Doobs   155
Ironsid   161
Karmad   176
Berger   191
Bunnyd   192
Arbboy   207
Celtic.   245
Karab   267
Pokerp   283
Nirvana   316
Scotty   368
Juperj   398

9. One of the great Rugby upsets was St Peters RFC beating Cardiff RFC in the Swalec Cup. Many people felt the Ref tried his hardest to give Cardiff a chance to win. How many minutes injury time was there in the second half?

Another one I was lucky enough to be at. Here's a video of the closing moments.

If you watch it you'll notice the scoreboard where the Cardiff Groundsmen had added another digit, so sure that Cardiff were going to ring up a cricket score. The ref added a ludicrous 8 minutes but St Peters held on.

Juperj   7   1
Karab   9   1
Ironsid   10   2
Celtic.   11   3
Dacorb   11   3
Doobs   12   4
Pokerp   12   4
Arbboy   12   4
Tighty   13   5
Berger   13   5
Scotty   15   7
Bunnyd   15   7
Karmad   15   7
Nirvana   16   8

Juper j and Karabiner closest but no big swings sees Tighty remain top. Dacorb looks to have sealed second place and Doobs and Ironside now battling for third spot.

Tighty   112
Dacorb   139
Doobs   159
Ironsid   163
Karmad   183
Berger   196
Bunnyd   199
Arbboy   211
Celtic.   248
Karab   268
Pokerp   287
Nirvana    324
Scotty   375
Juperj   399

10. The great Jonah Lomu played for Cardiff Blues for one season. How many tries did he score?

Unfortunately for Cardiff, Lomu signed after having two seasons out when he had a kidney transplant. He only played ten times before breaking his ankle and scored only the one try.

A huge swing in the top five as one Rugby legend got it spot on and another had a mare.

Ironsid   1   0
Tighty   0   1
Juperj   3   2
Berger   6   5
Arbboy   9   8
Bunnyd   10   9
Scotty   10   9
Dacorb   12   11
Pokerp   12   11
Celtic.   14   13
Karmad   15   14
Karab   19   18
Nirvana   25   24
Doobs   25   24

And as easy as you like Tighty wins another. A valiant effort by Dacorb sees him come runner up. And third place goes to...……

Tighty   113
Dacorb   150
Ironsid   163
Doobs   184
Karmad   197
Berger   201
Bunnyd   208
Arbboy   219
Celtic.   261
Karab   286
Pokerp   298
Nirvana   348
Scotty   384
Juperj   401

Ironside pips Doobs to a top three spot. Karmadope smashes another top five. Arbboy. who ran hot early on drops back to middle table. Scotty and Juperj rue a big score.

Sorry if you didn't get a mention along the way. Thanks to everyone for entering. How's your knowledge on all things Leicester?

Stay safe all.

Thanks Rubbish. It's only right that I avoided the relegation places as my dad was born and bred in Cardiff.
