It's the unprecedented 10am start, and I've still managed to wake up far too early.
Well, we may be playing the 2.5k Short Deck (1pm start) today, but obviously hope not to be!
However, on, let's say, the off chance that we are, here is a quick summary of Short Deck:
- Sometimes called 6+ holdem, the deuces through fives are taken out of the deck.
- The one change in hand ranking is that a flush beats a full house.
- Any single out becomes more likely to hit. This gives better equity drawing to a straight or a house.
- The one draw that this negatively affects is to a flush, as a flush draw now has only 5 outs, rather than 9. (Hence, a flush beating a full house)
- Almost all equities run closer. 66 is in better shape vs KK, AK is in better shape vs AA, JT is in better shape vs AK and vs AA
- Every player antes. Limp-raising all-in is very much a thing.
- Blockers become more key, as they occupy a higher percentage of the deck
Anyway, let's hope none of that is relevant. Day 2 of the PLO starts at 10am

good luck, sounds a good table with the limping.

2500 EUR short deck
Another delayed start!
About to start now. Ante (that's an old school ante, not a big blind ante) starts at 100.
It's like an old school double chance freeze out. Two stacks of 25k, and you can take your second stack whenever you want.
12 players to start, but I suspect that it will make its 200k guarantee

2500 short deck
Sigh, still cannot win an all in. First bullet (of first entry) down
on K98. Get it in vs K9 and K8
Any open ended straight draw is 43% to make a straight because of the higher concentration of the deck, and with the two extra cards out, here I will have 47% equity 3 way.
Actually exactly the same as the PLO spot. Near 50% chance of a treble
No good. K9866. Sigh

2500 short deck
This is beyond relenltess
AK into AA for the second bullet (of first entry)
German guy on button (last position) chip leader and very aggressive. Two limps. I limp AK cutoff (penultimate position) , he raises to 3k. Feels like trap is sprung. We get it in.
AK into AA

Keep getting it in good and making the right decisions. Mistress Variance will crack the whip at someone else's behind at some point.

This is horrendous.
Get it in for 25k with
vs
(again, absolutely no idea how that happened). Obviously the KJ equity is better than holdem, but still.
It never stops

Thanks guys
Up to 33k
Yeah, on a run like this, the only actual important thing is to keep your head and do the same things. Luck has no memory. The only truly bad thing that could happen was that the deck swung in my favour and I wasn't ready to take it.
