$2500 Mixed Omaha/stud hilo

The most brick wall of bricks

Raise two hearts, Grapes defends

three diamonds

(Nut low draw, counterfeit protection, gutshot, nut flush draw)

Bet, Grapestein raises

I should raise for value here, but it's worth saving myself a big bet, given table position, in case it goes bet-call turn, and i can fold the river.

That is, sadly, precisely, what happens

three diamonds

Fold river

He shows me Two Diamonds, to show he had a massive hand. In fact, he has (depending on his 4th card) little more chance of scooping than going runner runner diamond.

7.2k

$2500 Mixed Omaha/stud hilo

Hit the bizarre situation of raise- folding (K5)A in stud hilo

I complete, good young pro raises (xx)8, Grapes over calls (xx)6

It's sadly correct to make the unlikely looking fold

$2500 Mixed Omaha/stud hilo

OUT

Definitely a disappointing event to bust from, the consolation is that the big brick wall we ran into at least leaves no doubts or regrets

Final hand was the story of the day

Down to 10.2k, find cutoff, raise

Both blinds come along (Carol and old guy)

two hearts

Overall good for aces. Obviously likely way ahead or way behind

Carol hesitates and checks. Old guy bets. Well, that's Awful news.

Has to be right for me to get my 4.2k in. Backdoor low potential. Despite the bad News, not a certainty that old guy has trip Jacks.

I'm all in, both call

two hearts

Carol checks, old guy bets, Carol calls

Looks like bad news on the trip jacks front. We could do with a low

two hearts

Carol checks, old guy bets

We're now out of the tournament

Carol folds

We show. But it wasn't what we expected.

He has Queens.

Ouch ouch. We were actually in wonderful shape for a triple. And whilst Carol may have had something, we actually had the old guy dead to two outs to the river

Oh well, onto the next one

Plan

I think now, it actually makes perfect sense to have two entries (if required) at the big field $1500 Closer No Limit Holdem. One semi-late one today, one tomorrow.

Looking to get in now, with 50k starting, at the 800-1600 level

Ul Stu.

Totally agree with regging today. 1 hr + until late reg closes & you still have 5 hrs (10 levels +) to build a stack

Definitely agree. Slightly punting late entry, but looking round the field, tough to miss

Getting in soon

Nice three streets with as Hijack Vs small blind call on

three diamonds

His motions suggested we may have been facing a river check-raise all in, which may not have been pleasant, but we got the more welcome call and muck

Up to 92k

Hijack raise to 4k, Cutoff 3bet to 10.5k. We have button

We have 72k. Do the whole thing of moving half, not all, the stack in, as we just about want his range to fold

Tank-fold
