Hacking it round the back nine

Pretty good week for me with 37 stabbos in the Thursday Stableford despite three blobs on the back nine - had a season's best 39(+3) front nine for 22 of them, then played the Saturday Medal today off the white tees too and managed 86/14 net 72 with several missed putts from around 3/4ft. Both rounds coulda/shoulda/woulda been much better but ended up bubbling the cash in the pair of them. The comps usually pay top-4 in each division.
Handicap is back down to 12.1 now before today's round is included.

Good scores from everyone

85 for 39 stabbos with 2 blobs today. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

TK scored 41 stabbos with 3 Blobs.

Presumably TK and Tom heading for a cut as well?

Yes, I got cut from an embarrassing 29.5 to a no-less embarrassing 28.6. It's not for want of trying, I'm just hopeless at golf. I enjoy it immensely though.

Quite a week for me last week. As I'm so short off the tee, birdies are exceptionally rare for me, doubt I've had 3 this year until last week, but in addition to those 2 in 1 round with Tom, I had another earlier in the week, so 3 in one week is miraculous.

Golf & poker have been mixing it up. Yesterday I played Chatsworth GC as a Guest of Rick Trigg. It's one of those 9 Greens/18 tee affairs, and in fact we had to miss 2 Greens as they were scarifying them, but it was all very pleasant. A pleasant if not spectacular Course, although the views across the Chatsworth Estate & House were absolutely sensational. Lots of pheasants wandering the Course too. Rather surprisingly, never saw a single squirrel, where at my Course, Breadsall, we always see scores of them.

Breadsall has been wonderful for birdlife recently, in addition to some breeding pairs of Oystercatchers, Tom & I frequently spot a pair (parent & youngster) of Woodpeckers.

Another poker-golf combo today, as Moulty, Tom & I are due to be joined by Fat Mitch Johnson. Mitch can give me some golf tips, & I'll help him with his Poker.
