Right guys, whats your opinions in this channel?

No doubt there will be presenters or guests from the channel who post on here, but whats your honest opinion on this channel and especially the experts?

IMHO there is too many channels trying to offer poker that being the case we are offered a poorer quailty than we would get if there was less channels

so we get lot of repeats badly advertised schedule and me rarely turning on and missing everything

if we had less channel we would get less repeats better schedules where we know whats coming on when

and me with the channel on in background as i surf blonde

I like poker night live and it's well presented, the guys really know their stuff and answer the questions with good explanations.  It's also amusing, Nick Weatherall is just hillarious, I like his sense of humour, especially when he's with the blonde lady (Michelle?).  Casper really knows his stuff and I have learnt a few bits from him.  They all know their stuff to be fair.

As for the rest of the programs, I agree with Ironside. They really need to sort out the scheduling and not show repeats all the time.  You can be watching something and all of a sudden it changes into something else without warning.  It's just a bit 'homemade'.

Hopefully that will improve when they move channels soon - perhaps it will be time for a smartening up.

I really like this channel. I watch it on the internet when I play late night poker most nights. As Graham said, it offers good advice.

A few months ago, I actually tried to open an account with one of the TV poker sites used on the channel. But it asked for my national security number or passport number. No way am I gonna give that sort of info to a poker site. So I didn't bother. Come to think of it, I don't fancy the presenters and that good looking female presenter ridiculing my poor playing skills  Cheesy.

I think PokerNight Live has improved a lot...all the guys like James Browning, Nick W, Casper etc are extremely knowledgeable and I find I pick things up. I like the way the discussions go off on tangents too. Mind you, I am a mug for poker theory and discussions

As for the rest of the 226 output, I must say I find it disappointing

I watched last night and i thought it was a bit out of order Barry Martin telling the camera how Willie Tann tried to nip him for money in vegas last year to play the event he eventually won.
Especially as he said Willie is always nipping off him!!

Barry Martin seems to see how far he can go without getting slapped down. A couple of nights he and James Browning were talking about calculating outs for backdoor straights and flushes, Barry drops in the line something like this, "as a man I am not a backdoor fan" JB could hardly keep a straight face.

I think JB, and Casper are very good analysts as is Dr Tom.  I am not a fan of the female presenters as tey seem to struggle with whats actually going on and seem only to be there as a bit of eye candy.  Undoubtedly there are many female poker players who could do that job much better but would most probably be overlooked because they may not have other assetts.

I'm not a fan of Nick, I find him to be annoying and he can sometimes be quite patronising to people who do contact the show.  I agree that the poker discussions can be quite good.  Moreover I am in agreement with the point on the scheduling.  I would like to see more Live Poker, I don't see why they couldn't negotiate with ESPN/Challenge and see about getting some of the WPT stuff on.  Would also be great if they covered more of the Live UK games.

I do prefer Channel 226 to the other station on 265.  Everytime I flick through that it night it still showing repeats of the World Speed Championships or Blackjack.

While we're on this topic, I would like to see channel 425 offer more coverage.  I really enjoy this station with the coverage you get of the greyhounds on it as well.  When they broadcast a fresh poker show its always really good.  Cool

i cant believe so many of you enjoy watching that poker night live!! Watching internet poker has to be one of the most boring things imaginable (trust me i did it for 4 months solid whilst trying to figure out how to crack pokerstars) so watching two blokes watching internet poker has me on the edge of my seat for all of 30 seconds before i'm reaching for the remote to watch the endless reruns of porridge or only fools and horses on UK gold!!

maybe its just me but unless its a well put together program i find i cant watch poker when its been shown on tv - i prefer to be playing rather than watching.

James Browning= top man. I've played with James a few times and he's very clued up on odd's etc, and a very funny bloke to boot.

These shows are ok, but they don't hold a great interest level for me, i do enjoy the tongue in cheek humour tho re- back door str8. Cheesy

I rarely ever watch 226 or 265. I would say 265 was better of the two though. If I watch any Poker it's usually on Challenge the WPT, 888.com stuff etc.

When there's new tourneys on 265 it's not bad but then tend to repeat them all the time for months, and 226 never actually seems to have anything worth watching on. Barney's Home Games on 265 used to be alright, quite liked that for a laugh!

I enjoy the channel and I tend to flick between this and others like 265 and 121. My only gripe is they are sometimes talking in depth about a subject and don't notice the action on the board.
For entertainment value my favourite is Nick Weatherall.
Overall though a thumbs up from me.

I agree mind numbinglly boring TV. If the where more poker programmes like "beyond the felt" which at least is watchable then maybe they would get more viewers.Poker shows in TV are generally dire though I think the format for the WSOP coverage is watchable and well presented.
