Again I know it's late but I hope you had a good one.
Not to put too much of a downer on it, my mum's birthday was Saturday and we had arranged to go for dinner with my bro and his wife. We're all ready to go as Mum comes down the stairs and goes over her ankle twisting it and damaging the ligmaents. She was breathing very deep and heavy as she lay on the floor so my sister in law who's a nurse told me to ring an ambulance but Mum insisted we didn't as the only reason she was breathing so deeply was to stop her swearing in front of us!! Bless.
She got up and struggled on to dinner but the pain was too much and we they took her to hossie. no broken bones but she can't put any weight on it for two days.
Which means number 1 son has to pander to her every need for at least two days but more likely the next month. I think for her the pain might actually be worth it!

And another belated Hope you had a great one Char! oh and Get Well Soon Mummy F! - I did the same but it was when playing football with my then 6 yr old. As all fathers do I was trying to impress Jess and her 5 year old mates with my footy skills! stepped on th ball and put all my weight through my right ankle while it was pretty much at right angles to it's usual position. I can relate to the breathing hard to avoid swearing! Took me bout two weeks to stop limping (well ignoring the poker tables that is!)

Thanks Charmiane and Jagster. For someone so close to the ground (she's only 4ft she does fall over a lot. Last year in France she managed to trip over a flourescent yellow curbstone and break a metatarsal and was out of action for what seemed forever. And now she's done it again. But hse gets really stubborn and refuses to take it easy, she really ought to take at least a week off work to rest the ankle but she's determined to go back to work and not let them down. As for the pampering I htink she's just milking it as she knows I'm leaving later on in the year!!
