We've recieved an email at work asking for 1000 medal ribbons - no medals, just the ribbons. This is a bit strange - what I am not pleased about is that it's from Nigeria.
We have been given credit card details though. It doesn't please me any more, but I could process it and see what happens.
Other things that don't please me are that he's asked for DHL delivery specifically and also that he's used a yahoo.co.uk email address rather than the email from the 'company' he works for. He could have also used a Nigerian email address too I'm sure.
The thing stinks of scam to me but I'm tempted to process the card and see what happens
What to you think? Have you seen this before and heard what's happened? I know loads of scams are about but it seems a wierd one to me - why give me card details?
Thanks

Stolen CC, you take payment, send ribbons and then the nice CC company takes the money back off you as it's a stolen card.

Silo, you want to stay away from the ribbons, sounds like a scam.
If you really want to get rich, then all you have to do let me use your bank account, as I have profited from the sale of a Botswanan mining company, but can't move the funds directly to me for tax reasons. There is a total of ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS waiting to be moved, of which you can have 20%.
I just need a small sum of $5000 from you to bribe a couple of officials. This money is insignificant compared to the huge fortune which you will reap from this deal.
Please PM me if you are interested...

Wouldn't he be covered by the CC fraud insurance?

Just because he is in Nigeria it doesn't mean he is a fraudster...
If you got the same order form Bracknell would you be suspicious?

Why?
under the new chip and pin system the cc fraud insurance has changed and now the onus is on the sellar to insure the card is not fraudulent

I would go back to him with your concerns as it is a bit weird him using a co.uk address. If it is for the company have you tried serach for them or even contacting them to make sure it is correct. Also you can cehck her http://www.nigerianscams.org/x_letters.htm#KingsleyAboki for a list of the general type of letters and names used to see if it looks like one of them.

Wouldn't he be covered by the CC fraud insurance? surely if you take a cc in good faith you need to be paid?
