Big Micky Jones!
I sat alongside Micky on Saturday at Walsall in the biggie, & he is something else, the Big Man has a Big Game.
He had KK 4 times, & won with them once. There was some criticism of the fact that he playd them slow on some occasions, but that's Mick's style, he likes to get paid big, & is always pepared to up the risk ratio in order to do so. He knows the score with slow-playing.
I took his first stack (it was a double chance) on a 3-3-5 flop, I R'd with my TT, he RR'd, I moved in, he called. I had TT, he had 99, but it woulda played the same either way, whoever had the extra pip.
He actully won a big pot against TWO full-houses with A high! On a board that came 3-9-9-9-9 he somehow found himself all in on the turn against 9's over Queens and 9's over Tens, & ended up winning it!
His exit was equally spectacular. Playing KK cutely, the flop came 3 clubs - he had the K of clubs - & the TURN came a club too - but he was up against A-2 clubs. No way off that one.
Never a quiet moment with Big Micky. And his Nicola is just achingly lovely, but we fell out on Saturday. She's just started watching Poker 425, & heard a reference to me being 73 years old, & not being "in" on the running joke, she actually told me, in all seriousness, "I must say Tony, I'd never have thought you were that old, you look very well for a man of that age"...... WHAT?
