1. Raise more on the turn to define your hand. If Mr Blond then flat calls the bigger raise then you can pass to his value bet on the river easier

2. As it is I do think you have to look him up on the river, your Jacks could easily be ahead

I reraised the flop to define my hand, his call worried me he then bets out the turn and I pass . If I am going to raise the turn I have to commit to the pot as his bet is 40 so I would put him in (which I almost did)

sorry, I meant raise more on the flop. My bad.

don't think he is going to pass any pocket pair for $15 more

His $40 on the turn...needn't be the nuts, might be him finding out if you have a 7

yeah a bigger raise on the flop would have been a better play . I think I might be seeing monsters under the bed here too . I'm just envisiging a7. Thing is with the stacks then his 40 bet really represents more as he has commited over 60% of his stack already.

sure it does, it represents the 7 nicely

at $0.5/1 though it needn't mean it is a 7. Difficult if you don't know the player though.

Calling with an overpair here or more likely setting him in doesn't strike me as -EV long term

Agreed. Why risk 75% of my stack on a tough marginal decision when I can pass and just keep on grinding away and increasing my roll tho? I know I could be well ahead but there are better opportunities for my $$ I think.
