Ok, I find friendlies difficult to predict, as winning isn't really that important to either side, but there seem a few
obvious ones and some nice value bets, too, so here you go:

Russia - Brazil: Russia @ 4.5, they're playing in Moscow and it'll be freezing. Ronaldinho and Dida not playing for Brazil makes the
game a lot more balanced, too, so I think the 4.5 is definitely nice value.

USA - Poland: US @ 2.5 - don't think they have quite grasped the concept of a frindly yet, and will be going for a win, whereas
the Polish league hasn't even started yet, so half of their places are still in hibernation mode...

Ireland - Sweden: Draw @ 2.9 - I'd consider Sweden by far the superior team at this point, however Ireland with the new coach
will be more determined to go for a win, and also Ljungberg missing, and Ibrahimoiv can't win the game on his very own now, can he?

Senegeal - Norway: Senegal @ 1.8 - not great odds, but a pretty easy pick considering Norway's appaling form recently, think 1.8 is quite
good considering how much of a favourite Sengeal should be.

Germany - Italy: Although it hurt me a little, I went for the draw @ 2.80 .. Italy is in great form, but Totti missing and Germany on the other hand has yet to win a game against one of the other big 'uns. The draw seems good value.

Turkey - Czechs: Czech Republic to win @ 2.5 - quite a few turkish players missing and their recent international performance was quite poor against a highly motivated team.

Also set up a little accumulator with all teams as above, except for the Italy - Germany game (secretly still hoping for a German win there ..).

Well, will find out soon enough what my 7 quid to start-of with got turned into.. predictions anyone? I'm willing to take bets Wink

A personal motto: Never EVER put my money whether earned or ill gotten on friendly matches.

It's a hornet's nest of soft play, football style

That said, if you put a gun to my head, I'd always go for the draw...irrespective of the match...look at ther stats for the incidence of draws in friendly matches....

Agreed totally.  Draws must be the favourite in these games.  Anyone thinking of backing england tonight @1/2 needs their head examined.

Agreed, you just don't know how hard the teams wil try. Will Uruguay get stuck in, or are they on a nice holiday. Steer well clear, but come on England! l

England no chance for the world cup. We will never win anything all the time he's in charge, Should have got rid of him straight away after it all came out in the papers and got Physco in. Mark my words after this world cup and when stuart pearce takes over just sit back and watch the difference in style of play, Passion and motivation. The fella is a born winner and that will have a lot of effect on the way we approach games Physicaly and mentaly.

I hate to say it, but I agree, I just wish england played with as much passion as the supporters bring to the game .. How many times do you scream at your telly during an england game  saying " ffs get in there , get stuck in and go for it"  sooooooooooo frustrating...   then you look at the bench and the woodentop is just sat on his arse looking at the floor.    GET PSYCHO IN !!!

You 2 havin' a laugh or what? When our boys play a game which matters, then they play well. With a fit Rooney, Owen, Lampard and Gerrard, we can beat any team including Brazil. Keegan had 'passion and motivation' but he was useless, forget about Pearce, he isn't good enough, yet.

Nem, i used to own the same pair of rose tinted specs that you now own,  England players are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, and when things are going wrong in a game, they need someone to change things and re organise, Sven is blessed with having the best crop of players that any manager has had for a very long time... and i just dont believe he uses them right.  i dont doubt his ability to prepare a team for a game, but its during the game and at half time that you need a motivator and a passionate manager.

do yourself a favour, dont build your hopes up of us winning the world cup... expect us to qualify from the group stage and then anything above that is a bonus.
