I am an avid reader of this thread - usefull way to pick on how other people play  Cheesy

But just lately I have noticed some people (who will remain nameless) that have posted answers that I KNOW they would NOT do themselves.

What percentage of answers/opinions written are correct? (as opposed to trying to throw you off the scent as it were)

Should that read ''honest'' rather than ''correct''?  I post regularly but make no claims whatsoever for correctness  Cheesy

Anyway, name and shame.

Personally I feel that Brunson's guide to NLH in Supersystem falls into that category too.

I read this as well.

I have not voted in this poll. Simply because, in all honesty I am not experienced enough to give an answer to hands which could be helpful.

I would hope, people wouldn't be trying to throw other players off.  There are so many rookies like myself on Blonde. It is great to get advice from more experienced players.

I am pretty sure that the less experienced players would not be in a position to tangle with the more experienced people anyway, so what would they gain by trying to throw people off.

I would assume if people are trying to give false advice, that they feel insecure mentally. I can undestand if it is for a million dollars. Even for a million dollars, there is no honour in telling lies. But a forum like this, is suppose to be a place where people can have fun and get advice about their game.

When I have asked for advice, I have always thought people were fair.

In particular, Matt has been very helpful and given  useful advice. For a monkey, he knows his stuff  Cheesy . I am very grateful(sp?) for the help he has given me.

I'm pretty sure that Amarillo Slim wrote a poker strategy book in the early 70s which he all but admitted was a load of old cobblers to throw people off the scent of how he actually played.

You can rest assured that all my advice is genuine - yes, I really do play that badly...

Is there any reason why we should believe your comments now Paul?

If I even attempted to give advice to anyone, I would make them lose by accident. That is why, I wouldn't even try to...lol

In an interview I saw with Daniel Negreanu, he said that he has no problem with disscussing strategy. In his opinion, no matter how many strategy books are written, people will read them and then play how they want to play anyway.

I must admit, I do listen to what more experienced players say. If they have won and continue to win, there must be a reason for this. It can't just be good fortune. So I would listen to/ or read their advice and try to copy it.

Yes, my comments are always truthfull, i may however decide not to include certain facts/reasons - but thats because I dont want everyone to know how i play in certain circumstances.

To be honest i dont contribute much to the PHA thread, not because i dont want to offer my opinion and help if ever possible but i find it hard to comment on specific hands with very little information. Yes some of the posts try to give as much as possible but there are so many things to take into consideration that what might be the correct move on one occasion may be the wrong move on another. I will offer my honest opinion if anyone asks me a general question and will always offer advice that is how i would play - whether that is the right way or not, who knows? I always say to people to ask around - take the advice of 10 people and take the best bits from those 10 answers that would suit your game and incorporate them wherever possible.

Thanks for the kind comments Sark, dont forget my banana when you win a WSOP bracelet Wink

Tighty I really enjoy reading your hand/game analyses, they strike me as totally honest and always a good read.

If you'd have asked Blonde's very own Brian Wilson the same question in the summer of 2004 he probably would have said the same thing. 12 months later he walks away with his very own WSOP bracelet.

Never say never...........

I have read a few posts by Blondites who have qualified for the WSOP events next year. So the forum could have another Brian Wilson this time next year after Summer. Lets hope so.
