I am sure the others are nice guys as well.
But it is nice to see a guy like Roy Brindley do well. Most of the other poker shows I have seen, are filled with people wrapped up with their own importance. Look at some of the WPT and WSOP players. They are so arrogant. It is great to see a guy who actually seems to realise he is in a fortunate position.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life. Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft? Of course not.

There is a danger here of labelling somebody because of the way you perceive them on TV. We have a tendancy to believe what we are presented with by the TV companies. For sure there are arrogant p****s at all levels of poker, however it is not always easy to distinguish who they are after the editors cut. One or two players spring to mind who are really decent people however their own natural shyness coupled with heavy handed TV editing have appeared somewhat arrogant. Guess this is just a downside of the increased media expossure some players have to deal with.

Sorry Sark, I meant what happened with Junior??
i went out 8th - made what i thought was the right call at the time against Ram but on reflection the damage was already done in the previous betting rounds - i played it terribly on the flop and turn and didnt even think about trying to escape on the river - i played too fast, too loose and got what i deserved. - sometimes you just lose composure and play bad. - the exit hand was irrelevant - it was this big hand versus Ram that effecively knocked me out. - - now please...... no more questions

I disagree with above posts, people saying roy was the best player etc etc. IMO The best player in the tournament finished 2nd. Ram was top class both in his heat and in the final. also IMO now prima have ended the sponsorship with the mob, you will see the real Ram now. I have read posts and heard people comment that ram's heart wasn't in it coz it wasn't his money he was spending on the buy-ins and he was just treating tournaments abroad as a holiday and wasn't botherd if he went out in the 1st hand or not. I think prima ending it has done Ram a big favour and don't be surprised if he wins a couple of big tournies this year. Good luck fella. NEIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I think Ram is an excellent player. Just look at his results. They show how good he is.

you see the real ram everytime he sits down. just because the PRIMA deal has finished do you think it will be too long before he gets another deal.

I think the final showed that over the course of a long poker tournament all players can get a rush of cards and go through a dry spell. Ram got off to a great start and made the other players pay with his chip stack but he did go a little dry near the end. Phil hardly saw a hand for a long time and then when he did have AA he ran into Pascal with AA but he kept out of trouble and waited. He got lucky in a couple of pots and was gutted at his play in the hand where he moved all in with 15 big blinds and Roy called with 77.
I thought the way all three played when threehanded was some of the best strategic tournament poker I have seen. I think many would agree that the structure allowed the players to give us poker that we wanted to see and they didnt let us down.
Roll on the next one.
