Big Sam aint even nearly coped with European football. He's never won a trophy. He doesn't have a team that plays good football.

Whilst that last point might seem irrelevant if we are "getting results" I would rather not see Lampard and Gerrard removed from the game because of his long ball tactics.

IMO we must go foreign.

re Sam

I really don't think it's a good idea to give the England job to a man who looks like he's going to have a heart attack if he loses a drop-ball.

We might as well give the job to Peter Reid. Better still, how about Mike Bassett?

Has to be Curbishly for me. At least he has English players in his team.

Of course not.

Personally I don't give a monkeys as longa s Engalnd get beat Cool Cheesy

But I I where appointing a manager I think you need someone with passion, but who also has the tactical know how to win and change games.  Engalnd need to go for some one who is fearless and wont be bothered by players sulking.

There is one guy who is a stand out but doesn't have enough experience IMO and that is Stuart Pearse.

Pearse should be brought into the coaching set-up alongside a seasoned campaigner like Harry Redknapp.  Foreign managers don't always produce success look at Sven he has hardly been outstanding.

If Wegner wins the Champions LEague I reckon you should go for him!!!

Also as a total outside bet what about Terry Butcher?

With Harry Redknapp you have to look beyone what he has done with Southampton and Pompey IMO.  With Southampton that was a hard job for anyone, he done well with pomey in his first stint with the resources he had and I bet he will keep them up.

Terry Butcher IMO has done a cracking job at Motherwell, under very difficult circumatnces and they play neat,, attractive flowing football.

How many times you seen well play tighty?

He was a great captain.  And he had success as a player.  And he wouldn't puddy foota round with numpties like Beckham.  I am sure he would make sure that there was a left winger in the squad and that the defence was organised.

I was suprised Butcher wasn't named Rangers manager but David Murray was running scared after his last appointment from a Scottish club.  I reckon Le Guen will flop and Butcher will be at Ibrox within 18 months and then he'll be a serious contender for England for no other reason that he's been at a "big club"  I use the term loosley! Cool

I don't agree with going foreign.

Becoming the national coach should be an honour and not just a pay-day.

Employ as many dago advisers as you wish, but I feel your top honcho should be homegrown.

The issue is lack of comedy value, Sven we do the silly swedish voice and basil fawltey gangly thing, old Tel we do the gangster linked old blue eyes thing. Hoddle well.... comedy gold mine.

Big Sam?

His name is even bad to ryhme stuff with, half the tabloids can't even spell allerdyce/allrdice/allerdyce.

You needn't worry. Obviously these puns take around 6 months to write, however they have people working on them just now.

They write in a similar way to obituray authors, they'll be all ready for any contingency, whoever gets the job.

Surely there must be World Cups worth of Casablanca, "Play it again Sam" material somewhere.
