My vote is going to 9 darter as there's only ever been one in a World Championships back in 1984.

147's happen every 3 or 4 years in the snooker World Championships.

Whaddaya reckon?

9 darter by far,  they are both skillful sports, but if you haven't got a steady hand and good eye, you are bug*****d

and plus darts is fantastic to play Smiley

My claim to fame and I will never forget the night.

Local league darts night at the Broughton Arms in Edinburgh about 20 years ago.

Its a knockout and I have played like I have never played before....Im on FIRE

Gets down to the final and its just me and Jimmy!!!

To put you in the picture Jimmy (i think his surname was Riddell) is like the George Best of darts in Edinburgh, he does all these trick shots to impress the Ladies...you know the kinda thing...bouncing darts of his beer gut to hit the bull etc... but hes basically a piss artist who didnt make it.

I KNEW he was worried that I was gonna beat him and he tried to put me off with his ....back to the board throwing over the shoulder shots etc

My first 3 dart 57, 57, 57

Hahahaha women luck and all that he said.......go for the 20 like a real darts player.....he hit a ton.

My next 3 darts 57, 57 ,57.........and yes he hit another ton

Hes WELL peeved off by now, so the friendly...give it up now ur shite banter is going on...meanwhile other team members are placing bets on me as odds on favorite  Cheesy

Hes well rattled...my first dart 57...went for treble 18 and HIT....the pub is in a complete uproar by now with EVERYONE watching the game..........I btw am shaking like a leaf.........all i needed to do was hit a 16 to be on a double.........what happened......COMPLETELY MISSED THE FCKIN BOARD

Mr Riddell of course made the most off this by attempting to bring me down in front of the booing crowds  Cheesy and went on to hit yet another ton.

With a positive "I am gonna win this" attitude I made sure I was in the right place on the oakey and took my time. First dart I aimed at the double and just skimmed it on the inside..........second dart.........SMACK BANG IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DOUBLE 16

The pub went MENTAL and Mr Riddells long record of never having being beaten was crushed........bless him

So my claim to fame is a 11 dart check out

PS voted darts

Personally, I think a 147 is more difficult, it involves tactical desicions aswell as pin-point technical accuracy over a greater number of shots.
Holding your bottle on the last 20 shots is tougher than holding it over the last 3 darts.

That their have been more examples of 147's could be testament the fact that snooker players try harder. The frequency of each occurring can not be used to judge its prestige.

Darts is still a minority sport, snooker is everywhere. Most top snooker pros are household names. Even the ones that haven't picked up a cue in 10 years.

Your question is which is more prestigious, I say snooker every time. Most people in the country don't know what a 9-dart checkout is.

i think the 147 me self. When you hit a 9 darter you know where it is to go and that never changes . darts players, good ones are like machines.

the permutations of shots you may have to take to hit a 147 and the variance of chalkdust , kicks , wonky pockets makes it more difficult.

so for me personally 147...although i dare say i will never get iether so both get my total respect

I'd rather see a 9 darter.  If I have to wait for a 147 in snooker - I'm generally asleep by the completion.  At least with the arrows, I'm usually attached to a pint glass Cheesy

You can fluke a shot in a 147, in a 9 darter every dart has to be perfect.

Both of them amaze me but just for the perfection i think a 9 darter for me.

Voted for the 9 darter here.

Both are tremendously skillful but the 9 darter is rarer and as such causes more "sensation" within it's own sport.   In snooker another 147 is highly respected but no longer has that "wow" factor anymore.

Also I think that whilst the difficulty of a 9 darter is always the same, it is possible to have a "straightforward" 147 clearance where the balls are favourably placed meaning no difficult pots are required along the way.  Still a worthy feat but one any top snooker pro would reasonably expect to convert if faced with the balls laid out nicely like this.

Well done on the 11 darter Suzanne but no need to explain to me who this gent is.

As a kid I remember my mum often asking me if I wanted to take a "Jimmy Riddell"

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I also have memories of Jimmy. Every time my mother mentioned his name she would laugh. Did he used to be a comedian, then?

I voted for a 9 darter, based on the fact that only 2 players have done it on Live TV.

I reckon its harder to construct a 9 darter than it is to complie a maximum 147 in snooker.  there is far greater room for error at a snooker table than there is at the ockey.

I would personally prefer to clinch a 147 though.

How many Dart players take beetablockers though? Cheesy

170 check out is more prestigious than both of them.

How much £ does Barneveld get for a 9 dart finish?
