Hey,

downloaded that SNG spreadsheet from 2+2 a few days ago, and only just realised how much I like it. Was using pokerdroid.com up to now to keep track of my poker, but I find that spreadsheet so much better. And (as it's only
got the data of the last three days) it tells me I have an overall ROI of 51% Smiley
Is anyone else using that file to keep track of their poker or what do you guys use? Just curious, as I've been looking
for a good free alternative to pokerdroid for a while and the only other one I found (pokerdominator?) I didn't like very
much, either.

Just had a look at that one. It seems to round values to the nearest $, though, which is a bit irritating with my WH 3+.60 and 5+.50 game. Also you don't seem to be able to pre-define SNG's, which is quite handy. Think I'll stick to the 2+2 one, just quite like looking at graphs a lot, too, so that one is pretty perfect for me Wink

I found the rounding irritating and I may address it if I can be bothered. I like it because of the multiple sites option and the ability to track cash, tourneys and sng's.

I have my own spreadsheet which tracks money credited to poker sites and money debited. That's it! +/- I also do one for live poker and then total the two.

I don't like to over analyse my play. This is a hobby and should remain fun as long as I remain in the black!

I bet I'm not alone...

and remember this is just a forum and just an opinion!

I use one from 2+2 too, not sure if it's the same as yours or not but it's good for me.

Sure, there's no need to over analyse, but being a bit of a mathmo, I find graphs quite attractive to look at in a weird way, and it increases the fun I have in poker rather than the not. That said, even though poker is just a hobby, why not try to do well at it? Using stats to find my right level to play at, the right time of day (it seems I play best between 11pm and 3am and also three hours after getting up) is quite useful for that, I believe.
Fair enough, if you never had any problems staying in the black and are not too bothered about actual figures. In my case, I was a loosing player until recently, and _know_ that analysing my play helped me turn my game around.

I use www.checkyourbets.com

It's really basic which is the best thing about it. All you do it click start and click on your game type then when you're finished click end and your amount of winnings. Superbly easy and it's free.

If you want more in depth stuff though it's probably not for you.

I've been in the black since week 6. Week 180odd now. If you play small but win one or two MTT's your balance sheet looks great!

I've got a very detailed spreadsheet that tracks my play, bonuses, etc and also keeps a running total of my balance at each site and my bankroll by currency.  I'd recommend people keeping an eye on this as I've had more than one discrepancy in the past where sites have made errors with funds!!

The main spreadsheet then links into other spreadsheets which analyse the data into whichever form I want.

It does a great job, but the files eventually get huge.  My intention is to get the same functionality into an Access database which will be a much slicker way of doing the same thing, but my Access skills aren't yet a match for my Excel skills!

I also use Poker Tracker for the session history but this isn't 100% compatible everywhere, discrepancies sometimes occur and, of course, it doesn't track live play so I wouldn't rely on it totally.

I am very low-tech; I keep a little black notebook next to my PC into which all of my results go.

At the end of the month I crunch the numbers and see where my money actually went...  Cheesy

Every now and again I get little surprises - I expected to be slightly in the red last month, for example, but when I added everything up I was ever-so-slightly in the black (in fact, I was perfectly breaking even on the 31st and got a good result which pushed me up over the line).

I kept a spreadsheet record for one month, some time ago - but kept forgetting to input the results; the notebook gets instant updates ( as well as chip counts on every level, and notes on critical hands played, etc.)

An Access database does sound very slick. Might look into that, too, at some point, although my access skills would probably be restricted to googling for someone generously offering their own database to use, abuse and improve. Meh, and I'm meant to be a politics and computer science student, oh well ...
