Oh yeah, gatso.  It's good to get my priorities straight.

I just want to add that that was not a completely comprehensive list - if your guy isn't mentioned, I'll find him after the break.  Prepare for 30 slowish minutes as I try to sneak into the buffet queue.

Great reporting guys,

Just to clarify my hand with STEVE Pearce.. We were involved in a hand earlier where on a flush draw he declared he had the second nut flush before he called. I had no problem with that as I had made my action and he was trying to get a read....However when we get to the river on a hand where I have two pair and the best hand possible is for him to have a nine for a gut straight he bets the river and then declares he has a straight. I ask for a ruling because while I understand moodies go I thought you could not tell your hand. The ruling was that the hand stood as he did not tell his cards. I explained that he had because to have a straight he must have a nine. I then had a situation where it was then said that he could be making it up and how could it be proved. My answer was that if i call and he has a nine then you have your answer. If he has not then i am happy because i should win with two pair.  The ruling was then given that if he does not say i have the nine of diamonds clubs etc then he is not declaring his hand.

The end result was that i passed as either way i could not win. Two hands later Mr King who i really like declares to  show how stupid this rule is that he has a red jack. Now the jack of diamonds is on the flop so we know that he is saying he has the jack of hearts. Know problem says the dealer you never said you had the jack of hearts. My god what is happening. With this rule in place we can now happily go to final tables knowing that if we have shares with any other player on the table we can tell them we have an overpair or that we have flopped trips and do a bit of chip passing. As long as we don't say which two cards...The door is now open for all the sharp practice merchants and cheaters to be rewarded for their talents....Mr Pearce should do well !!! the sharpist practicioner it has ever been my displeasure to meet.  thanks for allowing me to rant ..and continue the good work

Personally, I agree wholly with you - one's actual hole cards shouldn't be revealed for the reasons you touched on and the broader one that colluders will find this an invaluable tool.

However, Mr. Pearce did exactly the same thing at the Vic at the last festival, and the confused table asked for a ruling and were told that by opening the Moody door, they've effectively taken any and every bar off what you can say about your hand.  So he happily declared whatever he liked until his elimination, which players had to accept, whether they liked it or not.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

The annoying ranting, not the elimination Wink
