Sorry guys, a bit late today, heaps of stuff to write up, but it's gone across to our technical department now (that's Mrs Colclough), so it will be on the site soon enough. Mrs C is in Cyprus right now, so I send the stuff across there, she sends it back here, amazing the way technology works, eh? Tikay aint trusted to input directly yet - cant say I blame 'em......

Welcome home matey.

It's all looking good here, and the live updates were great.

Thanks Ralph. The live updates were a bit Heath Robinson - well a LOT actually, you would not believe the hoops I had to jump through to get em across, but it sorta worked, & we had good feedback. "Not bad for a first effort" was the concensus I think. Very exciting at the time though, I sorta feel more like 27 than 57 sometimes, all enthusiasm & no brains..... Joe Beevers was SO helpful, what a top bloke he is. I mean, we are more an irritant than a true competitior, but he had no need to help us the way he did. But to get all the "go Thewy" feedback from the UK made it all worthwhile. I was running up & down the stairs from the cardroom to the computer like mad!

And what about the boy Thewy eh? A shame, but he could not sorta get "into" the Final, the big stacks were slugging it out, all getting plenny of hands, the poor fella just had to wait it out. Woulda lioved to see him H-U against Ram or Noah. He acquitted himself superbly when H-U at Luton against The Camel, & it would have been a close run thing. His turn will come, be sure of that.

All seems very quiet on the blonde front.

My appologies for the delay on the latest updates. I've been in Cyprus as Tony mentioned, and the last few days got a bit hectic. However, I have uploaded some new items and normal service shall resume.

Tikay, have you thought about using a Blonde Blog for your tournament updates ?  They are much easier to read than using the forum and if you have a digital camera you can post pictures as you go as well.

Top marks for a quality site.

All you need to to do is go to http://www.blogger.com and set up an account. You can choose a template of how you want it to look. In fact Mrs C could probably get it looking like the rest of your site. Once you have it setup you can post like a forum. Because of the way it lays out your posts people can read all the updates easier and they can still leave comments. The comments appear at the bottom so they don't interfere with the reports. Pokerstars have someone doing one for the EPT events and although his writing is good he doesn't know the players as well as you do.

Have a look at some examples:

http://europeanpokertour.blogspot.com/
http://luckyblind.blogspot.com
http://camelpoker.blogspot.com

If you are going to France for the EPT I will be there and will give you a hand if need.

Thanks Lucky.

Yes, I have seen & read the Pokerstars EPT blog, very good it is too. I would prefer it to "lighten up" a shade, but thats just a personal opinion, overall, I believe it is excellent.

I hear what you say about a blonde blog for live updates, but my concern would be that, ultimately, it would NOT drive traffic to blonde - which is the whole purpose of the exercise.

Perhaps I could take you up on your offer to discuss this in Deauville. Please make yourself known to me, despite what you say, I dont know many folks by sight, so I would not know you unless introduced.

And if any blonde-forum readers have a "take" on whether we should keep the live updates from big events on the forum, or start a separate blog, well please tell us, we are all ears......

Hopefully interesting means 'good'.

There are ways a blog can actually drive more traffic to your site, I will discuss it with you over a beer in France !

Keep the good stuff coming.

Tony, I have noticed that on pokerpages Mike Paulle's 'blog' appears on their front page as an entity within the site.

I am not a techno at all, but wonder if that may be possible.

Thanks Lucky. And yes, "interesting" DOES mean good in this case!

And a post just in from "karabiner" (thanks Ralph) suggests that the blog could actually be ON the site, so maybe you are right.

But was the "forum style" blog that bad? It seemed to generate plenty of interest & feedback, which was the purpose of the exercise. Lets wait & see if any readers have a view on this.

A beer in Deauville it is, though tikay is teetotal (shock, horror) so mine's a cup of tea....

For what it is worth, I'd put the tournament/trip reports into a blog and link to it via your front page. This would leave the main site with all the other stuff (articles/profiles/poker on tv etc) and the forum

It's probably the individualistic/idiosyncratic reports that people have in mind when sent here...
