Great article Duke, Mrs RED thinks you are wonderful and insists on reading everything you write

I will introduce you to her and shatter her illusions

Mrs Red is no fool - but no, don't shatter her illusions. The reality would be such a disappointment for her.

Does she have an illusion-catcher?

As usual I enjoyed the read

It appears to me that your game has gone up a notch. Rather than grinding away and getting near the bubble short-ish stacked as used to be your m.o you are now happier making moves and accumulating chips

eg your move against Juanda with "not a lot" was pre-conceived. OK, you were outplayed but you had a go

Do you agree, and is it conscious improvement in your game?

I don't really know, but I am sure trying to improve it, this has been easily my worst year "live".

Not making excuses, really, but in just about every "big" comp I've played this year, I have done in parallel with a blonde Live Update, & my mind has been all over the place. In Vegas, Jen was looking after the Main Event, & I just cant express how much faith & trust I have in her - she is absolutely perfect for the role, far better than I could ever dream to be. So I was able to comletely forget about the Vegas L-U, did not worrry even for a seconds, and it left my mind free to concentrate on the Comp I was playing.

And the comp? Well, as I noted, it's a different game when you have a chip advantage. I tend to over-rate survival, & not gamble enough early. I NEVER exit early, which if you think about it, tells it's own story. Vegas I gambled early, & it was easy after that.

The two failed plays against Juanda. Another "tell" here, but I bet I would not have tried them if I'd known who he was! Then again, if I HAD known who he was, I woulda probably played them even stronger. But I had nothing, & the way I played the 2 hands, I left myself no choice but to pass. I shoulda moved in BEFORE he did.
To avoid confusion, "not a lot" was abslutely nothing, I was simply trying to repersent the paired rags on the board in the BB.

I appreciate your comments, I really do. And I know the big boys can hardly supprsss their giggles, but I was, and am, truly thrilled to have done as well as I did. Add that to two excellent efforts in EPT's this year & it's done my self-belief no harm at all. Apologies for the apparent chirp.
