So the Norwegian poker champoinships are being played in Sweden? What's up with Norwegian poker venues? Is it not allowed in Norway?
Next, the Walsall Grand Prix at Blackpool.

Bizarrely, the first player out gets a huge round of applause from the whole room.
Even more bizzarely, the second guy, and each and every exit after that, also receives a round of applause.
However, only the first casualty and the bubble are treated to the complete ovation. Everyone else has to make do with just the table applause.
After discussing the subject with BA, he informed me that the applause from the whole room was due to politeness, whislt all the other claps were so the tournament director, incredibly not Big TR for once, knows who's gone out and where.
Kind of wierd though to hear seals every time someone exits, but also very handy for us updaters.

Brace yourselves guys, I have somehow managed to come up with a name for our first casualty...
... well, just a nickname actually.
The guy is commonly known as Kunstneren and was subject to a somewhat horrid outdraw.
He flopped 2 pair, K-9, but his opponent rivered a set with pocket bullets.
Ouch and whatever goodbye is in Norwegian.

No poker tournaments, with the exception of freerolls, are allowed in Norway, which is why the Norwegian Poker Championships is being held in Sweden.

As a special treat for all the lovely lasses playing today, the last remaining female will be given the opportunity to play the runner-up of the whole comp in a heads up match for a WSOP Main Event seat.
Although we initially hoped that Jen would be involved in this, it looks as though the prize has to go to a local.
Who knows though, they may change their mind.

And here's the star of the day... Jen 'Mrs Merton' Mason.
You'll notice from the background that our current location is slightly more picturesque than the usual Luton and Walsall venues.

With starting stacks at 10,000, Jen has taken a big dent already and is down to a rather worrying 9,925. I'm sure she can pull back this defecit though.

This is a self deal comp with small round tables.
I have to be selective with my photographs though as I'm not allowed to show chips, cards, etc.
so expect one or two close-ups.

It doesn't look like your average cardroom (ie. no smoke, sick in the toilets, arguments about deals)... but this is the exterior view of where we're playing.

I hope all this is interesting by the way, and if anyone wants to interact in any way, feel free to post.
There are no Brits playing, except for Jen, but we thought it would be fun, and slightly unique/different to give this comp a bash.

The wierdest thing about this surreal week has to be the size of the cards...
they're tiny!

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
