DEATH OF INTERNET POKER
«

Any opinions on this? I reckon the rake will kill internet poker, if you look at the calculation below for ONE table running 24 hours a day IT could easily generate $1 million dollars a year in RAKE.
If in an extreme example 10 players sit down in January with 100,000 each, and play every hour (I did say extreme) in Early December ...........there is no money left...?
Days Hours Hours per Year Rake per Hour Rake for ONE Table running 24 hours a day
365 24 8760 120 $1,051,200.00
How many tables are there in the that world rake $2 a hand at 60 hands an hour........... ?
How much money is actually available in the world for playing poker?

no replies?
you should've posted a topic about your pet, or some fella you met walking down the road.
you wouldve got a load of replies.
Example: i was walking down the road and tripped into the curb.
to my surprise i found an old ten pence piece.
how long have they been out of service for?
i wonder how many hands that coin had past through and how it got there?
blah blah blah ect ect.
you didnt expect to get replies posting a thread about poker did you?

No it will not. Just as a $4+ rake 30+ hands plus per hour isn't killing live poker in the USA.

lol Is there enough money to left?
Same can be said of food, and everything else.
see the money goes to site, site pays employies,, they buy stuff, this pays more employies, and so on......
The money will eventually make its way back to you in one form or another.
this is a fairly basic concept called an economy, there are many books on this subject at your local library under the economics section.
Unless the poker rooms just lock it all in a big cupboard......................... oh sh........... best start bartering goods, anyone wanna swop a playstation 2 for a 24 pack of beer

I agree with mex though, ecomonics and the flow of money. (Although I never did GSCO economics)
Rake money goes to adverts, which goes to pays journalist's wages, which pays for lap-dancers wages, which pays for their online deposits.
It doesn't all go in a big hole, there will always be money to gamble from someone.
As an industry, it's still growing. It will peak, but it has not done so yet.
