Right, i need major league serious help here on a life changing dilema!!!

I have a pair of K-swiss size 10.5. They are a good fit, but I have got a bit of room in them. I can easily fit my middle finger - I would say I have an average size middle finger - between the heel and my ankle. I want to buy another pair of K-Swiss but the shop only has size 10's. I also dont have time to go to the shop and try them on, so the question is............

Is the difference between a size 10.5 and a size 10, about one middle finger, or will the new pair be too tight? Is it worth the risk? Also, i need them by the weekend so I can tear up the town with them, so i need to order them today.

Thanks

My K-Swiss are size 8, perfect fit. Button-down collar, too.

Doesn't it all depend on the size of your middle finger though?

Good point Trace.

Mjrevie, are there any other places you could put your middle finger so we can get a sense of its size?

BTW, shoe sizes are 3 to the inch (so a size 10 shoe is an inch longer than a size 7).

I would say that I have a normal size middle finger - its not too big or not too small. I would say its got approximately the same diameter as a flip-chart pen.

So 1/3 of an inch is a full size, and i'm going down half a size so the difference will only be 1/6 of an inch. Have measured the flip chart pen and its about 1/2 an inch.

Are you sure that 3 sizes are 1 inch?? Seems hard to believe.

The length 1/3rd of an inch is known as a barleycorn. The UK shoe size for a man is (3 x length of shoe in inches) - 21.5. Therefore each extra barleycorn longer your foot is, you'll go up by a size.

That all sounds complete and utter barleycorn, but it is true.

ge the smaller size or youll be flapping about in your shoes in a few weeks and you could do your ankle an injury.
if they are slightly too small they will stretch out and you can help with some damp newspaper

what are these K things anyway?

Not really. More like the classy students shoe. Plus they are a really bad set of k-swiss shoes.

Here are the ones I'm getting. You can move the stripes up and down to suit your mood. Classy!!!
