It says on Ceefax he is to receive medical treatment. His peeling skin and overall condition is worrying doctors.

He could always pull out and audition for the new series of Big Brother instead.

He never made it - he had to be rescued two minutes short.

Now he's a failure, maybe us Brits will take him to our hearts.

His stunt looks even more infantile when you read what those miners in Australia went though.

14 days in a wee cage in a collapsed tunnel - with rock so hard the rescuers had to blast though it.

They still managed to crack jokes once contact had been made, one asked for a newspaper - asked why he said he wanted to look for another job  Cheesy

7 minutes is still not bad considering the effects on his body over the last week.  Brits will like him better now  Cheesy

Speaking to a tv editor the other day i found out something about david blaine.

He would do some amazing card trick they then film the reaction.

He then does some levitation or other impossible trick, gets no real reaction as the trick is easily worked out.

They then edit in the reaction from earlier trick

Mind you anyone who make Eamon Holmes look like a tosswedge is great in my book

If you do searches on the web, you'll find out how he does most of his tricks. As with most magic tricks, once you know the secret, it takes all the fun out of it. Magic tricks are nearly always nowhere near as clever and complicated as you think - finding out how they're done is usually a disappointing experience.

Even i can do his levitating trick - its very easy to do. I would tell you but i'm off to go bury myself in 5 feet of concrete where I will survive for the next millenium before being dug up and stuck in a musuem having my picture taken by tourists....beat that Blainey you moronic freak

He's mad alright!

Quote
Illusionist David Blaine has begun his latest stunt - spending seven days underwater in his "human aquarium" challenge in New York.
The 33-year-old lowered himself into a 2.5m (8ft) acrylic sphere filled with water at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

A mask and air line will keep Blaine alive, while food will be provided through a tube.

"My only fear is the unknown," Blaine said before descending into the sphere.

'Pretty insane'

Hundreds of people turned out on Monday to see Blaine - who spent 44 days in a suspended acrylic box over the River Thames in 2003 - begin his latest stunt.

After seven days he will attempt to break the world record for holding breath under water, which currently stands at eight minutes, 58 seconds.

He revealed an unexpected twist to the challenge, telling reporters he would be handcuffed into 150lb (68kg) of metal chains for the dramatic finale.

"So basically besides holding my breath for about nine minutes hopefully I will have to escape from all these chains, and if not I will drown and the world will see something pretty insane," he said.

Dr Murat Gunel, who specialises in surgical treatment of strokes, said a lack of adequate oxygen in Blaine's brain during the breath-holding challenge, especially after seven days under water, carried a risk of irreversible brain injury.

"David might never be the same again," he said.

"Even if he is fine immediately after, there is a risk for developing seizures in the long run.

"We all advised him against this stunt."

Blaine entered the "bubble" wearing trousers, rubber shoes and a special diving mask.

During the seven-day challenge the water temperature will be maintained at around 36C and he will be able to control his own core body temperature by wearing specially designed wetsuits.

He has also undergone intensive training for the challenge, shedding 50lbs (23kg) in body weight since January to improve the efficiency with which his body uses oxygen.

"I feel pretty good. Though I've been sleeping very little and breath-holding non-stop," Blaine said.

"My system is completely empty and I did that so there's no waste. That way in the sphere I don't have to use the bathroom."

Bloody typical isnt it, you sit there for hours and then bubble!!!

I was right, he bubbled.

The guy provokes reaction. Look at this thread.

His persona seems to be working fine to me whether it is an act or not. People talk about him. Fact.

When was the last time people discussed magic at length? He is a credit to his profession even though I don't like him.

More bad news for David Blaine, he has just been informed that his 44 day stunt doing sod all in a box has been crushed by Emile Heskey, Heskey managed 9 months!!

How can you not respect this man, pushes his body to that absolute limit, indoing so he has suffered damage to his organs, liver, kidneys, and perhaps brain damage. He's brought "magic" back to mainstream.

No matter what you think of him, he's still great entertainment.  thumbs up
