Just read in my local paper that Tony Bloom, nephew of seagulls director Ray Bloom is the wealthy investor spearheading the campaign to remove Mark Mcghee
It then goes on to mention his poker career and his various gambling business interests. I also think I saw him on the 425 show recently.
He seems to have done well for himself, but not sure if he has the millions needed at Brighton to turn it around. Does anyone know more about this or is he a blondeite?

He had enough to lose $500,000 to Daniel Negreanu Heads-Up.

This guy has been a fearless punter for years and recently sold his sports betting firm Premierbet for good money.

Loaded is the right phrase.

Of the poker I have seen on TV, he has featured in it alot.    The first poker million that John Duthie won, Tony Bloom and Ian Dobson seem to stick in my mind for some reason.  I haven't seen Ian Dobson in anything since then.

Lets not get too carried away squire - my bid of £8.50 was rejected not for the value being too low but because the cleaners were refusing to clean out my executive box after matchdays!!

Dobson did an episode of Late Night Poker too, but otherwise I haven't seen him since.

Tony Bloom plays in nearly all the biggest tournaments in the world

WSOP, WPT, EPT etc not to mention the sponsored TV events

Poker Million, VC cup ( which he won ) etc

 and also big cash games

I seen an interview where he said he is lucky he doesnt rely on Poker for his income so doesnt consider himself to be a proffessional player.

so basically he must be minted if he doesnt consider poker to be his income

Tony Bloom is indeed a blondeite, & Jen was tableside - reporting for blonde - when he played that half milllion Heads Up game in Vegas last year. In fact he'd played Dave Colclough the day before in a warm-up, & Jen was the dealer.

Tony has a number of Sports Betting interests worldwide, & in one of them, he is a partrner of Martin de Knijff. He was at one time an odds-setter, but he was  poacher turned gamekeeper, & went on to make a fortune on Sports Betting, especially in the Far East, where betting on the Premier League is huge. He's a BIG Chelsea supporter, & rarely misses a home game. A lovely, humble, man, buit one helluva poker player.

Ian Dobson - I last saw him at The Palm Beach, in a £500, about 8 months ago, when Brian Wilson tempted me to play in what I thought was a £200! I believe Ian is connected with The Western.

Can you imagine being a supporter of two "two bob bit teams"  Cheesy Mind you City have just scored against Arsenal. If we can get a win a few celebratory pies may be coming my way.

Thanks for post Tikay, sounds good and Brighton need all the help we can get. Not just in getting new players, but more importantly getting a roof to stop me getting wet.
