I really enjoyed this weeks episode. Still don't undersatnd why we needed the oh so dramatic 3 month break but i'm looking forward to the rest of the series now so wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
xx
It might have a something to do with the fact that when writing this Stephen Moffat didn't realise corn doesn't grow in winter and they had to wait until July to film the episode.... or more likely they wanted the oh so dramatic 3 month break

Really enjoyed it. Brilliant end to the series. However, I wish they'd have done it over 2 episodes. Felt like a massive build up to a train crash (a bit like why I didnt like I Am Legend tbh)

Pro's:
-Some gems like the doctor's wife and the girl who waited
-Matt Smith- take a bow
-Think Rory really came on well and having James Corden back was pretty awesome
Con's:
-The mid season break was a fail
-Too many scary episodes in what should be essentially a family show
-As above, some plot lines get really complicated for no apparant reasons
Rio is 7 and loves doctor who but we've had to start screening them which makes watching them together a pain in the ass.

nice little timeline of river song's life on confidential for anyone who's confused in any way. worth a watch
enjoyed the ending, so obvious yet I hadn't figured it out at all. that's how it should be

I thought the finale was excellent.
Would obviously be a trick to get out of it. Never guessed the tessalecta. When the gangers shown up I just wrote those off as being far too obvious. So by the time we got to the tesselecta I never really considered that again.
Bit of a reboot for the show in terms of style going in to the next series?

Meh, cried a tad when the dad came home, even though everyone knew at the beginning dad was gonna come home...
Liked the Narnian feel to it but thought it was tailored for the younger child.. ended up catching some of the old Tennant chrimbo specials on watch and the difference in drama was astounding..
I digress..
Pretty predictable episode from start to finish but in a nice sweet kind of way...
6 out of 10.. (Scored higher for the humour) but not worth another watch

The Christmas episode was pretty tez - all far too obvious what was going to happen and did just look like a Lidl Narnia.
By all account Moff wrote this in a rush as he was also working on Sherlock - should have given it to someone else if he didn't have time to do it properly.
On a plus point Karen Gillan managed to look super super hot even while wearing a rubbish Christmas jumper.

Yeah, it was enjoyable enough I feel but certainly isn't going to go down in the history books as one of the classics.
Moffat has wrote some good episodes but for me he hasn't come close to The Girl in the Fireplace or Blink - both of which he wrote when he wasn't running the show.

Watched a lot of Doctor Who over Xmas and Tennant still just shades it for me.
Episode for the whole was predictable but loved the ending when Dad came home but loved even more the whole Amy/Rory/Doctor ending.
