I have posted this on the Dusk Till Dawn thread but it is such a big announcement i hope the mods will allow it its own thread.

Hi All

Well 2008 has passed and we now have over 16,000 members . Our monthly 3 2 1 with a £25,000 guarantee was well received , our £1000 Anniversary Cup with £100,000 guarantee had 186 players and as you know we hosted the Norwegian and Greek poker championships as well as several third party events for Virgin , Sky , Ladbrokes , Red Tooth , Blonde etc.

We started 2009 with a bang by doubling the guarantee of our £300 Deepstack to £50,000 and got 295 players and a prizepool of £88,500. As a result of the high prize pools our monthly deepstack event now has ranking status !

Well , we feel it's time to truly put Dusk Till Dawn on the map and encourage more Europeans to travel to the premier poker venue .

It gives me great pleasure to announce

The £1,000,000 Guaranteed Poker Grand Slam

3 events with a guaranteed prize pool of £1,000,000 giving everyone the opportunity to play the same structures as the WSOP / EPT and WPT Grand Finals for a fraction of the buy in.

" The Main Event "

27th to 31st May ( 5 day event ) Cap 405

£1000 + £75

20,000 chips 2 hour clock

Same structure as the $10,000 WSOP

£250,000 Guaranteed

" The Monte Carlo "

23rd to 27th September ( 5 day event ) Cap 405

£1000 + £75

15,000 chips 90 minute clock

Same structure as the €10,000 EPT Grand Final

£250,000 Guaranteed

" The Bellagio "

16th to 20th December ( 5 day event ) Cap 405

£2000 + £150

50,000 chips 90 minute clock

Same structure as the $25,000 WPT Grand Final

£500,000 Guaranteed

There will be a full satellite structure available with guaranteed seats both online and at the club. I have been fortunate enough during my career to play all 3 of these events and i can tell you that you will love playing these structures , imagine in December having a 50,000 starting stack ! We will definitely need to order some more chips lol .

These events are capped and i am certain they will sell out , we will let you know as soon as registration is open.

Thanks for all your support last year and i hope you get to play in the Grand Slam.

All the best

ACES

Simon you've not put the Guarantees in for The monte Carlo or Bellagio but going by the buy in guessing £250k and £500k respectively??

Truly Awesome by the way!!!

what software is dtd on? still crypto? boss?

i think i might add satting into these to my schedule - boba fett played the anniversary cup and said the structure was simply mind blowing compared to the usual glasgow live structures.

wp simon, rob and the team 2009 is gonna be massive for dtd

Pretty amazing stuff well done guys.

The Monte Carlo one will be interesting because it will be around the same time as the WSOPE and EPT london, so we might see some massive names in Nottingham for that one. Was there any plans to maybe make a higher rollers event with this in mind? Obviously there is no real need to and the appeal of DTD is for us mid stakes guys to play wsop style events for a fraction of the price.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Great tournaments but the only downside i see would be them being 5 days for a 1k buy in tournament.

I thought the club were looking to attract big name overseas and european players to these so my point is i cant see those type of players looking to spend 5 days for 1k tournament.
Obvious these structures and buy ins are amazing for the normal grinding poker player as most will never get a chance to play in the actual events.

Will be interesting to see the numbers for the first one.

If I had a hat on, I would be taking it off now.

Many congrats Mr Trumper for understanding what the players want, Dusk til Dawn will soon be known as the most exciting poker venue around.

I agree with others that there is a difference between wanting to provide these great structures for the mid buy-in players, and wanting to attract Europe's big names to the club. Indeed, I think there is a real opportunity to throw out a challenge to the EPT. The EPT is actually the biggest culprit in terms of a mediocre structure compared to a massive buy-in, and I think many players would jump at the chance to play a similar buy-in (say £5,000) with a far better structure.

Maybe worth thinking of adding a fourth to the list?
