It looks like one of our cats (Bengal) who is so hard to spot in the garden and brings home birds, frogs and mice on a daily basis.

I actually managed to find 2 other cats before I managed to find the real one.

Not too sure about Milligan's pics. What are we supposed to be looking for in the one with the wolf in it?

my first guess was that what changes is that after 10 minutes you notice there are two rabbits in the picture.

this was true (for me) but not the actual answer!

WTF is up with the rabbit? Can't see the difference at all  >:(

I think you have to unhook your brain's attentional system, it's trying just to make sense of the scene. It feels as if you're taking in all the details of the scene, but your brain is lying to you, you are really only paying attention to the whole thing. Stop and force it to look at the details.

Please explain "to be exactyl in the middle of the ball?"

exactly in the middle of the ball as in the centre of the ball as it is seen in the picture?
where the ball was in real life before they magically erased it you mean?

That is what I'm meaning, Yes.
from what I understand, most Spot the Balls are not 'spot the ball' but 'guess where judges think the best place for the ball to should-be is'. You cannot gamble on events in the past, something related to.

This is true. Do they still do Spot The Ball comps?

Anyway, the judges are given the picture without the ball in and stick a pin in it. That pin prick becomes the ball. The centre of the cross made by the player will need to coincide with the hole. Not very easy to win!!

Didn't realise they were STB. Apparently they are a great money spinner for the airports. According to the Inside Gatwick programme, they one of the bigger turnover outlets in the airport.

Yeah I noticed that they say the closest. Bit different from the old STBs on the pools coupon. How many £25 tickets do you think they sell a month?

for a £150k car they would probably need to sell £500k worth at least to cover expenses.

Interesting business

Not hidden, but it is 3D if you know how to mess your eyes around a bit. Extraordinary effect, I have no idea how they do it. Also, I want strawberries now. You need to have your eyes ~3 inches from the screen.

This is a little hard to work out but I guess if you ask it like that, you haven't seen the main thing.

Was reading a bit about this kind of stuff. You seem to have the picture in your head when you close your eyes, but there is no way no way you will ever be able to see the other thing using this image in your head. Therefore....there is no 'image' in your head, just stored propositional info that you think is an image. Some kids, and few adults, actually store an image, and can look around it in their heads, and see new things. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://pages.slc.edu/~ebj/minds/student_pages/sally-jane/conference.html

That's the one, I think. Nothing happens for me in the vid, I guess those people can bring the memorized image strongly to mind, and superimpose it (resulting in a 'B')
I guess this kid has it. Amazing really, I can't understand how this is humanly possible. I can't even take in a scene in that detail

Now instaclose your eyes and look at the image in your head. Try to look at the image in your head in different ways, to see another animal.
If you can see another animal, you're an eidetiker.

This one I see the 2 different animals. The other all I see is Strawberries (sp), I don't see the other or the other other, maybe it's cos I'm thick.

I seen the full documentary some years ago regards Steven Wiltshire, totally amazing. There was also a young black british lad who done similar, really amazing stuff.

Does that mean I'm not actually thick cos there aren't "other" things to see?

Try looking at the hairy arms again then back at the overall scene.

I thought i clocked this straight away, but what i actually thought wasn't what it is.

Lol, thought the bird had hairy arms.

Is this the answer? That it's the bloke sitting down but at first it looks like he's the one standing up? Because if it's not that then this is really tilting me.

Also I got both the eidetiker things but pretty sure I'm no Stephen Wiltshire. Guess there are varying degrees of eidetikerism

Need to screw up your eyes a bit, imagine you're drunk, focus on something in the distance and then draw your gaze back to focus while looking at them, it should 'snap' to 3D

I have none at all, in fact, I have problems really recalling the images. I do have a few 'flashbulb' memories from my past though, when I think of them I can see the scene very vividly, I can almost look around it.

Sometimes when I saw this discussed, they asked you to close your eyes and think of what you had for breakfast. Some people always recall it as an image, others never, just notions of 'toast', 'cornflakes'.

I think you got the main thing, yes. I noticed the hairy legs first and thought it was a bloke with his effeminate boyfriend, I had to have the head place illusion pointed out to me.

I seem to be ok with the pictures that can be seen 2 diferent ways like the one above. The famous old woman/young lady one etc.

It's the ones linked to by MM here that I can't seem to do   http://www.colorstereo.com/_cs1-2/pg-sirds.html

Apparently within this image:

If you study then an image of a plane can be seen

Even knowing what I am looking for, I still cannot see this.

Title: Re: find the cat
Post by: smashedagain on January 14, 2012, 10:28:42 AM
these are quite easy for me to spot. the best way i have found to explain how to see them is to hold 1 finger 3 inches from your nose and another 6 inches from your nose. now focus on the furthest finger and the near one is blurred. this is how you see these images by looking throught the picture and it becomes blurred then the hidden image comes into focus

the other thing is that there is nothing wrong in essence. the girl stood up and guy sat down. but lots of people go away thinking its 2 guys or the chick has hairy arms.

The object of this one is to find the boat hidden somewhere in the picture. For some reason, women are better at this than men. I've been looking for 8 minutes but no luck so far.

My photo is quite controversial, the CIA are saying that the guy on the left is KGB undercover 'tourist' Vladimir Putin, some are denying it. The USA a bit unhappy that he was around there like that for some reason.

Something I saw this morning made me think of another one of my fav threads. Loads of pics have lost their links tho. :(

The two sides that you can see are the exact same shade of grey! Put your index finger across the shaded space between the two sides and it will be revealed.
