Big Trevor Reardon has doubled with against Jon Farrer's . The board coming an unthreatening three diamonds two hearts .

Elsewhere, slight histrionics after Neil Channing made a small raise from the cut-off, Anthony Nicholls re-raised from the small blind. Ian Woodley in the big blind, turned to the dealer and said, "One time, one time!" He then looked at his cards and gestured, "the farm." Neil passed, and after a bit of dwelling in front of a growing crowd Nicholls passed , Woodley showed . After all that, I was left with a sense of disappointment that with such a crowd, bigger hands weren't shown. I haven't been this underwhelmed since I saw Clerks 2.

Short break and then we're on level 9, which will be 400/800/75 and the last level of the night.

DC update please

Dave just limped utg, a tad suspicious with the blinds and antes as they are, a couple more limpers, and the blinds made up.

Flop:

All check, I'm now thinking Dave has Kx or Ax.

Turn:

Everyone checks again to Warren Woolridge who makes a stealy-esque 4k bet. Only Dave calls.

River:

Now Dave bets 5k and Warren eventually mucks, Dave flashes what looked like to me. I think he's on between 35k and 40k now.

Channing raises to 2225; Anthony Nichols and Ian Herbert call.

Flop -

Nichols bets 6k, and Herbert moves in for about 30k. They both fold. As Ian Herbert's raking in his mountain of chips, Nichols says, "He had jacks. I folded a set of nines." Ian Woodley shouts in my general direction, "he passed a set of nines! Make sure you get thaat! He passed a set of nines." Ian Herbert is nodding most earnestly. PASSED SET OF NINES, I dutifully write down. "Not really," says Ian HERBERT. PASSED SET OF NINES Laughter all round. Hilarious.

To clarify, Ian Herbert did NOT pass a set of nines.

Le is OUT  he had against Craig Owen's but the turned up on the flop and Le disappeared into the night littering the casino with a torrent of expletives.

The Camel is OUT, he's at the bar with Flushy. Tough break. (I mean being out, not being stuck at the bar with Flushy...Oh hang on...Wink)

David Clark has doubled through with against Ian Herbert's , hitting a King on the flop.

Jon Farrer has knocked out Stephen Pritchard with Ace King against Sixes. King on the flop.

Is Vicky still there or is she out?

Still in... Just... Saw her bet 2k on a board that read  , but then fold when George McKeever (pictured) moved in for around 10k. She's juuuuust about hanging in with 7k.

chipcounts please

Chips are flying thick and fast now and there's only 15 minutes to go. So there isn't much point until we get the final official count. I can tell you that Rumit, Karl Mahrenholz and Mick McCloskey are the biggest stacks remaining.

Stuart Rutter has trebled up to 24k with Aces, and in the running for climber of the day, but he faces stiff competition from Ryan Fronda who had just 1,400 earlier but now sits with about 25k.

Steve Bovis just doubled up with against Tien Van le's on a Two Clubs board. Van le exited shortly afterwards.

Vicky Coren has also just doubled up against Warren Woolridge. She pushed with and he called with .

Flop:

(Gazillions of outs)

Turn:

(That's all she needed)

River:

Finally, Rudders has doubled up back to back with Ace King twice in a row, first beating Martyn Cavanagh's 9-5 and then knocking out a short stack's 6-6. He also, whilst short, still had time to pass pocket tens in the big blind.

Play has now finished for the day and we are officially pooped. Play for Day 2 begins at 4pm and we'll be back then for the remaining 100 or so players, including a multitude of blondes. Best get here on time, I suspect there maybe carnage in the first two levels involving many of the shorter and medium stacks...
