[ ] day ended better than it started. The circus jobbie that i enjoyed a leisurely 2hrs+ drive to enjoy is probs gonna turn out to be the most expensive poker tournament i've ever played. Am gonna pick up a copy of lucky's book today i reckon!

GG everyone. Good fun night. Bubbled the final table but, more importantly, took out the happy couple, AKA Rajvinder and Daniel, with some epic skillz. Good chili ftw too.

Random thoughts...
7pm start is great. Final table started at around 1.30am, which would have been 3am had it been at the G.
25min clock and format good. Could defo go to half hour if antes came in earlier.

The final table included Nene Hairspray, Lady Evil of G, Lord Malcington of Rug, Nightclub Rounder Chris Eddleman, Tighty, Twat in a suit and a couple of randoms.
The upshot was 7pts to Edna and 4pts to Tighty. No shame in getting knocked out by a former pro sir.

Chris Eddleman is a reformed character IMO. More relaxed, nice table company. Less aggro game too, more considered

I think I was the author of my own misfortune at the final table, opinions welcome

We're 7 handed. It's top heavy. £1k for first, £450 2nd and downwards. So got to get a stack to be in the hunt for top

blinds are 2-4k with 300

Chip leader Edna 80k, Ruggington 55k, rest 25-45k, me 42k.

So play is Wanker Wednesday-ish in approach apart from the Limp calling Pensioner in trap one who will do his chips 4k a time

Edna limps early. Alarm bells ring. Maybe a 50-50 chance she's setting up with a monster here, as her limp tendencies go down a lot at a final.

I look down at 7-7. It's a ship most of the time, but I hatch a cunning plan that Edna will not stitch me up like a rotund kipper again. If I limp too I can expect Chris of Stringfellows to squeeze shove behind me, or a short big blind to do same.

Or else Sophie Gregory will make a screeching sound akin to the mating call of a Crested Albatross that has lost its partner.

I will then see if Edna ships. If she does, I pass. If she doesn't I call the shove.

Two of the three parts of the plan come to fruition. Chris of Stringfellows shoves for 30k. Sophie indeed makes a screech, and the big blind passes

Edna passes, so that read was crap then

I stick to plan, and call.

Chris 7-7, Me 7-7

gg me with a four flush from Mr Nightclub.

Irrespective of the result, I wish I'd just stuck to conventional play, stuck the lot in, Chris passes his 7-7 (probably, to a shove from me) and Edna passes her Q-10 or K-9 or whatever.

Fancy play syndrome strikes again.

Always liked Chris. Maybe you is right about him being more chilled, sounds like he's loved up to the max with his new bird.
LOLZ at when he asked me to describe the bird he had the last time I'd seen him. Didn't want to risk saying 'Like Spanish wearing make-up', so dodged it skilfully.
Stick your hand up on PHA and the 'All in pre' brigade will coming flocking like poker players round Dena. Meh, you hatched a plan and followed it through. Stop trying to be flambuoyant though, please, it feels a bit alien or something.

Sigh at what he asked me to describe the bird I saw him with last time I saw him. Didn't think saying 'Like Spanish wearing make-up' would be appropriate, so dodged it skilfully.

You squirmed like a new born in a birthing pool!

I did well not to giggle.

Who's hacked Drainy's account then?  Never seen him post with only 2 clicks of the keyboard.

Lucky my arse! Busts out, then they do savers for 16th and 17th!

Thanks for all the good wishes guys.  Feel a bit silly now after all the previous posts about luck!

A quick day 2 report....

Was going very well (got up to 180k with 22 left and 100k average) but then lost a chunk with KK . Went card dead , blinded down , raise folded a couple of times and was suddenly a bit below average with 18 left.

Raised with AQ, got shoved on again and decided to make a stand (I would often fold here but felt I may be being picked on). I chose the wrong time as he had AA !  Out in 18th with 16 paid. Had a good run but a bit annoyed with myself to be honest.

I was playing to win rather than min cash (£21k up top and only £1,100 for 11th -16th) but maybe my call was a bit rash and -EV given bubble dynamics and some shorter stacks.  Opinions / criticisms welcome!
